You know, this plane has got me thinking of a gas engine but now a gas engine has me thinking of a larger plane that would run something like the DL111.

Where is the thread on the 103"?

Well we always fly each others planes and I saw you looking so I had to ask I do have the servos so this one is going to end up in my hangar. The only problem is do I want to stick with electrons or go gas The long flight times on gas has me leaning that way.

I think this will be my first gas plane Good mate to my 70" Slick.Fly this while lipos charge. Question, what would be the best muffler for the DLE 30 for power, cool sound, etc. I know nothing about gas stuff

I'm kinda thinking the same thing. There are a few videos floating around on the 68" Velox with that motor, some with the stock muffler and some with the Slimline Pitts style muffler. The stock muffler is loud and sounds really mean if you like that and the Pitts has a more "toned" sound to it IMO. I prefer the sound of the Pitts myself and I think it looks much better under the cowl. I believe Ben said that this plane will also be set up for cannisters/tuned pipe as well.

At this time it seems that the J-Tec pitts muffler is the only available alternate over the stock muffler, in short of custom fabbing a muffler setup.

I think there are a few smaller tuned pipes available also but finding a header that fits the airframe properly might be a problem.

Guys - We're almost done with our canister muffler setup....70" Slick Gas version and 72" Extra 330 will have the can tunnel.
