I think the 5320 or something heavy is a good choice. Mine was tail heavy with a 14l on 8s, hated it so much I pulled the gear and it sat for several months.

livinma1, looking forward to hearing about how it goes. If I remember you were going with the 5320 330kv with 19x8 xoar on 8s, right? Mine's the 300kv but I'll also be running on 19x8 on 8s. So jelly you guys all have your planes, all I have are a box of components set aside for the airframe

That is correct.. I picked mine up from another number that was running this setup in a 74 inch 3dhs edge. 330KV on 8s with a 19x8 prop. Unfortunately the 19x8 he sent me has a slight chip on the tip so I will have to fly it on 18x8 until my replacement prop comes in.

It seems that since I am so close I have no reason not to make it to Joe Nall.. Even if it is for the day. But from what I keep hearing camping there isn't like camping since the grounds are incredible.. So yes I will be there and will see the 3dhs crew.

Thanks Manta...Yup @ Triple Tree and from what I hear its the best place ever.. So looking forward to Saturday and all future events there..

Thanks this will be like my 3rd motrofly setup and I am loving them. Hopefully now she will balance without shoving the packs all they way to the front.
cool beans,i didnt know about the triple tree fly in till a cple days ago. cant make this one. i like it there. We camped last year during joe nall and it was awesome.

my 74 has a 330kv, 19x8. My 72 actually has the tacon 110, 295kv. 19x8 but I have a 20x8 on it now, spools up a tad slower. Cheap motor but a bunch of flights and is 22oz. 5320 about 20oz.

Interesting alternative, so overall it sounds like you have been happy with its overall performance?

For sure, especially since I had put out the feelers about selling the plane. Glad I didn't, one of my favorites.

Nothing impressive here, just a camera on the back of my car...the last pull out was about 5:30 on my 6 min timer. But plenty for me, I like a more mild than wild power. They are available again last time I looked.

I know you had the Hacker in there as well and yours flew great with it.

IRG recommeded I go with the Motrofly for the 72 specifically the 5320 so that is why I swapped. Vs adding dead weight to help her balance I added some weight that counts.

I will let you guys know how it went. I have to finish buttoning her up today and will be good to go.
That is what I have done by going to the motor I have gone to. It is heavier, and I am now using slightly heavier batteries also, so this should alleviate the necessity of having the 3oz. of lead I had inside the motor box at the very front.

Nice.. Now that I have the weight I needed I am slightly tempted to go back to 6s 5000 packs.. But I will stick with 8s for a bit and possibly pickup another bird that can use 4s 4000 packs. I do have 8 of them.

Great flying Wamsy! Loved the video and the music

I suddenly jumped at 6:15 as I thought you were going to collide with what I thought was another RC plane. But no, silly me, it was a real plane way above you, haha!
