We're working to have all of those options for the 72". More details to follow.

the DLE-30 produces about 2500 watts equivalent, about like a good 8S system.
On the canister muffler: If it lives inside the fuse, where doe the exhasut exit.

With the tuned pipe: Is the muffler long and run along side the fuse?

I was looking at the 4035-460, with a xoar 19x8, Hyp. CX 4s 4000's x2, WR Hercules Super bec, and a CC110HV. That should do the trick and get close to 2500 watts at around 85 amps peak.............I think.
I'm running the 4035-380 on 6S in the 65Vyper... this alone could poke the 72 Extra along very well with a 19x8 (I'm using an 18x8 at the moment). With volts from two more cells, means this wattage goes up a bunch as it is... I reckon the low Kv's is what you're after on 8S. I'd rather prop up to get wattage (bigger props rock 3D so nicely) than turn smaller props faster to bring the wattage down on too high a Kv motor.

I really dig the 4035 motor though, a sweet piece of equipment.

It makes a U-turn and exits out the bottom of the fuse right behind the cowl in front of the landing gear.

It's long and runs inside the fuse and exits out the bottom behind the wings.

Keep in mind that the internal bec is rated at 5 amps max....and I don't know what input voltage that is rated at. Max bec output goes down as input voltage goes up.

Probably easier and safer to go with an external BEC or seperate Rx pack.

Not knowing anything about gas, the tuned pipe sounds intriguing. If it exits out the bottom behind the wings it seems like it would keep the plane much cleaner. With the tuned pipe or cannnister is there any cutting or modes that need to be done or is the plane ready to go with them.

It depends on the airframe. Go to the extreme flight website and read the assembly manuals for their 50cc stuff and you will be enlightened.

Gasoline doesn't produce goo like glow-fuel engines do. So, not really a concern.

There are generally separate can or pipe mounts that are installed that hold the can/pipe securely. You generally remove the covering over a couple of bays in the belly which are replaced with vented plates to let air out. A little more work then setting up mufflers, but performance is enhanced with a pipe while sound is dramatically reduced with a can.

Scott/Ben,

I know someone has probably asked this... When is it going to be available?
Are you guys flying a prototype yet?

Also I was going to make this my first gas airplane, but now thinking maybe should do a 50cc... how will this compare to one of the current 3DHS 50cc airframes like the 87" Extra?
