That's one of the fixable features I don't care for. (The other is the external routing of the antenna lead, also fixable.) Has anyone tried a counterweight instead of the balancer?

Now where did I put that depleted uranium?

even though I am holding out for the seacraft one hitec is having made, I like this one as well..... as long as it doesn't say JR on it. does it?
also, how is the balance? near horizontal, or totally horizontal? It looks like it's quite a bit shorter than the seacraft one, but that may be an illusion.

It doesn't say JR on it. I will have to look at the balance again tonight.

The Hitec one will work better than the JR one if it is longer.

I suppose that may be a good choice for lipo equipped tx's- I'm planning on rocking nimh packs, so I'd need the longer one...

Any availability yet? I'm dying to get a proper balancer. Using my old Spektrum one now but it's no good on the Aurora so waiting for this Hitec balancer to come out.

Aurora A9 - Balance with Neck Strap "#55843 Transmitter Weight Balancer". Provides best Neck Strap Balance position for Hitec 2.4Ghz Transmitters - available May 2010
as per
Aurora A9, Spectra Pro & Optima - FAQ & Undocumented Features - Mixes, Setups, Tips. {frequently updated}

The nice red alloy Hitec unit, due on USA shelves May 2010, is not only great with neck strap, by grasping the neck of the balancer with thumb and forefinger, it is also a convenient way of uplifting TX from a laid down position.

Aurora 9 neckstrap balance

Original neck strap balance point allows Tx to tip forward and does not hang flat. I used a adjustable add on from spectrum, and had to use the max adjustment to get it to hang flat. I changed from original NiMI 1800 mah batteries to a li-po 1800 mah battery and was able to use the min adjustment to get the Tx to hang flat.

I went with one of these.

Unfortunately, the demo model was not part of the package.

Ok, recieved the Duzi today, works very well with the Aurora 9. Balances perfectly. Take care to get the 38mm horizontal version:

If you can't wait for the Hitec one to be in stock, or don't want a red one, then this one looks pretty good for the price:
