Motor choice

I have an alfa spitfire. weighing of components I am at 14.5 oz.

My choice is A20 30M or 26M

ESC hyperion 20

Battery TP1320 but could save an oz with 910.

Prop suggestions?

You might want to go with the 26M for a little more speed for that airplane. I've run that motor extensively with an APC 9x6 slow-fly prop and it performs very well with great flight time on a 3S 1320. I suspect the 910 would work very well too. You may want to experiment with a smaller prop for speed, my motor was on a foamy so I can't say for sure what would work best for your Spitfire.

Almost forgot, that foamy was about 16 oz and had ballistic vertical... your plane should perform VERY well.

Thanks for the info. Do you recall the amps on the 9x6. I am wondering if Hyp 20 is enough or maybe an 8x6 would be betterfor the spit since it might spend more time at higher throttle.

Never checked the amps, but I was running a Hacker X-12 ESC, so a 20 amp should be way more than enough.

Edit... Actually... now I can't remember if it's a 12 or a 20. Either way though, 20 will be plenty.

I used to run the 26M with an 8X8 prop in a little foamie coarsair of the same size (the one from electrifly). 83mph on radar. The 1320's are taxed a bit with that setup, needs slightly larger cells. I used 1320's but they came down a bit too hot.

Thanks Gary

Maybe the new generation cells will handle the amps better
