OK - 2 Rudders it is - Can I just get another one like above? Also I need to know about the "Push-push" system of servo to rudder(s) - Is there a link to such a set-up? Thanks - Steve

Tubes going in
It's going to be tricky getting the planking in around these tubes when they are epoxied in. But it's the only way to go. I will just tack them in good for now (to the new hardwood parts attached to bulk heads) so If I have to reposition I can. Then when I am happy with the fit, planking etc., I will gum them in permanent. How does that sound guys? You gotta remember - I have only built 2 "scale" boats - the Midwest "Trawler" (wood hull) and the Artisiana "Helena" (plastic hull) so this is a great challenge for me. I really appreciate your help Guys. Thanks-A-Million - Steve - What filler should I get (just bought some "Milliput standard yellow") and is that Rudder OK and shall I get another (Rudder) just the same???

OK - Tubes in as shown - Not permanent yet but they look good to me. I will screw down and then later epoxy motors directly to the interior deck for best alignment. Any thoughts guys? - Steve

More Pics
This may give you a better idea with a piece of planking (not glued) there will be a fat .25 inch between the hull and the prop. Close enough for me and there should be enough room to set up the dual rudder system in front of the pre-shaped block used at the stern as the props and shafts are 2.75" apart all the way down from motors to prop and props do not extend to below flat hull. Does that sound about right guys? -Thanks - Steve

You may want to pull those props in some but maybe Pilot44 would post a picture of his props to give an idea of the spacing of them. You do want to leave as much room for the rudders and linkage as you can so you'll have room in the hull to work. If you can wait till you finish the bottom planking before you epoxy the tubes you should be able to get a better idea of where to position the props and rudders. It will look a lot different with the planking on. Pete

Indeed Pete - I have the tubes firmly positioned and there is some play for adjustment. The tubes themselves are not glued in yet but the 2 parts that have the drilled holes and are attached to the bulkheads are glued in giving me all the play I want - Steve |
