I ordered 2 10 gram and 3 5gram motors..
I ordered the 3 5g at first and then I saw that the 10g came back in stock so I could only ordered 2 with the remaining bonus money.. unfortunately this month I'm short... so 1of the 3 warbirds I got it's gonna run on the 5g.
Which one do you think it should be? FW190, P51 Mustang or the Corsair?

Gord.. you are running on 2S, correct?

Yep, 2 cell 360s. I also solder together my own 240 ma 2 cell Zippy packs from HK. At $2.32 a piece they're hard to beat. Also very light.

Are you attaching balance connectors to the homemade 2 cell packs? If so, where are you getting them?

I believe the answer is yes.

But what I intend to do is something similar to flypaper's method. I'm going to have to remove the foam where the front clip goes in order to fit my battery in the nose. It won't fit horizontally like vicarious'. After the foam has been removed I'll make a hole in the wing saddle on each side of the battery slot to accomodate dowels glued into the wing mount.

I'm going to tap some threads in the rear clip for a small nylon machine screw to hold the wing in place.

Did you ever figure out how to scroll through the pictures?

No, no balancers on the 2 cell packs. They're 2 yrs old and still going strong.
Yes, the wing is removeable. That's how I replace the batt. If it's ugly to pop off, I pry it off with a broken propeller blade.

Here's a couple of pics of the beat up P47 with the lip on the front of the wing and the button still on the back of the wing. Poor mans ails installed that works well believe it or not. Just wanted to see if it would work. Now I can clean it up a bit. P47 didn't fly wirth a sh## with rudder and el. Not enough rudder area. Mustang flies much better with R. and E.

Nylon Wing Mount Screw

This is a female wing mount button adapted for a nylon screw. CA glued a piece of 3/16" dowel in the button and drilled and tapped for a 6-32 nylon machine screw.

That sounds like a good way all right. But since I don't have any blue foam I was thinking of filling the inside of the original one with clay to close the openings for the stock prop and use it for a mold to Vac-U-Form on one of these little machines.

What do you think?
Good Lord!, that is an old piece of gear! I have one sitting on a shelf in the closet here. You must have been a plastic modeler who made his own parts back in the day.

(Or, have they started manufacturing them again and I just didn't know?)

Hi Pete,

No they don't make 'em anymore. And the one I had as a kid was probably given to Goodwill after I grew up. I got it from eBay a short while back for small projects like this. There are a couple of guys making the sheets for 'em. Or sometimes an old plastic container might get cut up used.

Anyway as you can see it comes in handy for small parts.

This place has them. Haven't dealt with them before but I've heard good things. One man shop, guy works out of his garage, very friendly, and fast shipping.

Or you could get the extentions from here and cut them to the size you need. I have these for both 2S and 3S and they work really good plus they come 10 to a pack. As usual shippping is kinda slow.
