For what it's worth, I just did a quick search on several European eBay sites, and apparently there are still a few left in Germany.
Go to www.ebay.de and search for "cox warbird" and "jamara warbird".
Most Germans speak reasonably well English nowadays, but shipping (outside of Europe) may be the killer...

Found only two on www.ebay.fr, but those Frenchies refuse to understand English anyway, most of the time (sorry neighbours )

Hi there,

I didn't think there would be much talk about these planes because of gravity throwing in the towel. Anyway I see people are still looking for sources and here is one from Germany. I posted it before and here is it again. They still have them.

http://shop.buschflieger.de/shop/ind...-Warbirds.html

And here is a link to my LHS which also has these models in stock:

http://www.verspaget.nl/contents/nl/d5_03.html

(page 4 in "electro vliegtuigen". Sorry this is a Dutch site)

I still have several on the shelf but have not been doing much with the hobby until recently. I might go back and do another one. Will keep you posted.

Howdy all you Cox warbird fans.

I just got moved into our new house in Hudson Florida, got the work bench up and ready.

Just a few minutes ago I order 4 hobby king T2211-2300 motors for the last cox warbirds I have new in the box. I'm doing 2 P-40's one F4U and one P-47.

I was real supprised to see they are still available in Europe. It sure sucks that Gravity gave up. I guess all things come to an end. So that's what it is with Gravity planes.

Good luck on your builds, I had a ball with mine @
SEFF last week. I have another P-47 in a box, but
I'm not opening it 'til I have more access to others. I'm in hoard mode.

Out of Production?

I am wondering, if the kits are out of production, what do you guys and gals plan to do with the electronics when a new air-frame is needed? Any plans to whack at some foam and build your own?

4 Motors showed up a couple days ago. Also 4 12amp Esc's. That's what I was waiting on to the Gravity assemblies.

Tsavah:

There are many similar plane to the Cox/Gravity size available.

Joe 1320. I don't know if you come around here any more. But my son James has done a nice job on this Zero. He also did me a F4U .
He put a 1806 N 2500 Kv motor , 10 A esc , 450 ma 3s battery and added ailerons on 2- 2gr servos , the ruder and elevator are HXT 5 gr servos... He also cut the top fuse hatch and glued the wing... These little planes really move on that motor

Haha.... when I saw this thread bump up I was surprised. These have been dead for quite a while. Yeah, I can see that motor giving these some speed. I used to do the same thing only with a lower kV motor and adding an extra cell. My fastest one was a FW190 , 1800 kV with two 2s 450 packs in series. too fast in many respects. I wish these hadn't gone away, at least I still have a few tucked away. The only problem is that it's difficult getting appropriate sized lipos for the narrow fuse models.

I just happened to be on here and saw that it popped up. The aileron mod looks good. Same goes for the large hatch on top. I assume the wing is glued on to make it more structural? I used to make the wing removeable and never did glue it like that. That's got to be easier getting to the lipo.
