EJF Composite F-86

I posted this on another thread but got nk response so I will post it here

Does anyone have opinions on the composite F-86 from EJF Here is the Link to EJF F-86 ? I was thinking I want a 90mm Sabre but I dont like to glass, but I know myself and I know I wouild eventually overstress the foam flyfly unless I re enforce the wing with carbon spars and glassing it. That being said I know the Composite is a little smaller but I think it looks more scale especially around the inlet. It appears to have a more effcient FSA or am I wrong? How does the composite fly is it more aerobatic? What kind of room do you have for batt and retract setup with the composite?

see the JHH F-86 thread ...that is flying with a hot 90mm set up the ejf version would be a good flyer on a 6s maybe 8s system.

I'm building a foam core version and the original wood built up version. Both will be Monokote covered when completed. The are great flying EDF on 1000 WATTs plus.

What sort of AUW is expected with retracts and a 1000W ish setup? Does it need flaps for short take off runs?
Any videos anywhere?

motor is a Mega 22/30/3 on 8s2p pack of TP Pro Lites. 42 amps at 1235 Watts.

Weight was about 6 lbs 11 oz

really rough road, so getting up to speed was tough

I dont remember if I used flaps or not

Bob,

Do you have any pics of your recent Sabre builds? Do you think it would be possible to mount retracts in the balsa built up wing? I have one of the original HOB kits with the built up wing, but I'd like to put in retracts. If they wont work in the kit wing then I'll get some foam cores cut.

Thanks,
Steve

Robert of EJF emailed me and wrote he's out of stock of the kits but is expecting some full composite ones in the future. Sounds good.
Price to be expected at around $399

You can put retracts in the wood wing , just be mindful of the spars locations.

Yep,
I plan on putting retracts in my wood wing, but like Bob said you'll have to think a little on your placement.
