After 18 months of work, here she is at play!

I was very impressed with the performance of the speed 600 motor. It definately has power to spare! The boat runs fast and true, the hull contacting the water only 1 cm in front of the hull step at full speed! I took the turns wide as I was afraid it would flip at full speed. At scale speed, it was very graceful on the water. I'm in love with this model! It was as much fum puttering around as it was running flat out! I got about 15 minutes run time (mostly wide open)!

XRAYCAJUN- Nice job on the Chris Craft hydro. She really looks great and runs just like the real deal. OH! By the way, I think someone stole your steering wheel!!!

I left the steering wheel out because I've yet to find a good glue for metal to metal contact. I was afraid it would fall out!. My girlfriend, who bought me the kit as a graduation gift, also would like to see a scale driver in the cockpit. Thanks for all the comments... I will send more pics of the next run!

hay xray, you could probly use JB Weld super strong when fully dryed and looks dark gray when dry so it would blend in color with the metal, just an idea. looks graet man.

JB Weld is king when glueing metal to metal (or metal to anything!)

Your Chris Craft looks nice! I only wish my girlfriend (wife) could buy me such a nice gift! You are a lucky person. I only get things I need, never things I want! Anyway, I think I'm a bit to old to get graduation gifts...

You might try Walthers GOO for your metal to metal on the steering wheel. It is a contact glue that sticks anything to anything. It is available at most hobby shops that sell train items.

IF you use J-B Weld, be very cautious. It can spoil your nice work if you use too much and have a big slop of grey epoxy running down the steering column.

Mix up a tiny amount, and then use a toothpick to carefully apply a small amount inside the column and then stick the steering wheel hub into it. Wipe off any excess with either denatured alcohol or 91% rubbing alcohol.

I'd knerel the end of the shaft and press fit it into the hub
