Eagle Butte

Our pilgramage to meca was another enjoyable weekend. Saturday the winds were 10 to 30 straight in and the sun was out. We had some great combat between flying glass/carbon/kevlar. Saturday night we all met at Famous Daves Barb-b-que for dinner. Sunday dawned with almost no wind and what there was, was comming from the north. So we all went to SDR. This is the first time I have been to SDR and it Rocks. The wind never got over 6 mph all day yet we were able to fly almost anything that will fly light air including the ASW 28. Never had this much fun in only 6 mph.

Thanks for the photos!

I had the great pleasure of driving through the area of Kiona Butte and Eagle Butte in early June, but was unable to spend time at the slopes. My home is over 2500 miles away, but I do hope to get back there someday and fly!

Here are pics of SDR. I had to walk a mile east along the ridge to get the whole slope in the pic.

Had a great time with all you guy's, can't wait until spring ! I know this trip was the first time for some of you at SDR, wish we had about 10 mph more wind so you could have gotten a real taste of what it's like there. Maybe next time. Heres a few pic's I managed with my phone, to bad the video I got looks like crap

That phone takes better pics than I thought Joel. Great job.

Wonder if Sam flew today and got some of that big SW wind? Superior, Fazer and the Escape really ruled the skies yesterday at SDR. In your face acro in 4-6 mph wind. Hmmmm. It's enough to get me to reconsider my "I don't want no F3J ship" comments.

who knows Pilebuck has a smile a mile wide hearing me admit that one.

So how late in the season do people (normal people).... scratch that... Is anyone planning on heading down/over to Eagle again this year?

Ok, here you go, SDR from 15/20k feet or so, would have got a better pic. if the fat head next to me would have moved his head from the pie hole sooner.

Wish I could have been there, maybe this weekend if the weather is up for it.

IMHO The main reason why SDR/ this spot on the Kiona ridge works best it the hump in the valley ( with the Quarry) which creates a diffusor.
If the wind is 15-20 deg or more off the old site is maybe better?

I'll be moving from SoCal to Seattle early next year . And I'll need to make new slope friends. Hope someone can show me the slopes around Seattle.
