high-lift camera foamie...

fellas, after giving my magpie-ap to a friend so he can learn to fly, i decided to build a new camera model. i did a google search for high-lift cargo airfoils...and this was listed as one of them. the fuse was cut out on the phlatprinter, and the wing test cut on my hotwire. it is a 10 1/2 constant root, and will cut it with a 55in wing span. the fuse is scaled to a magpie size wise. randy.

I believe this wing profile would not be stable. You have to pepare for nervous response for h-stab. It would be nice to test it though.
Good luck

Michal

This is a perfectly normal airfoil for stable slow flight and should not present any problems. don't hesitate to use it.
It's amazing what totally hybridized concoctions of single surface airfoils are being used to good effect.
This section should not any present problems as long as you have a light wing loading and fly slowly.

There's no reason it would make the plane unstable, but it will probably make the plane tougher than most to trim.

Interesting thread about the airfoil issue:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696779

If trying an undercambered is important for you, please consider modern airfoils like the DAE31 and the DAE51. I used both of them on my last plane and was very pleased with their general behavior.

A little H.Z.S.cub (ALL stock) will lift a 6 oz. camera. And that wing is only 7"X47".So you'll have no problems...RTR

Yea, 3/4 of a lb isn't real tiny haha. I always thought my Kodak 7630 was big. it's like 1/2 the weight of your cam. lol.

I think the wing will lift it... I would've thought a longer chord though... definitely keep us posted!
