Like Some Of You, I like to re-paint the fuselages

This is a nice machine, a friend just got one & he is having a lot of fun with it & the new battery charger is cool. Still, like a lot of you, that Yellow banana with rotors is in need of a custom paint job, I like to have "one of a kind," if you know what I mean. As a Marine Nam Vet, I'm partial to the Chinooks, UH1-Huey & 34 choppers. I've been re-doing the SYMA S022 fuselages for fun, masking is the tricky part, but it adds fun to the idea of flying. Can't use YouTube here or I'd show you a vid.

To insert a You Tube clip you just have to copy and paste the link from You Tube

I would really like to see your video or even some pictures

Has this helicopter been discontinued or something? The local Hobbytown has the BNF version on sale for $69.99.

I just bought one of these on clearance. I find the mcx heli's kinda boring but thought it was worth the price for the electronics at $50 from Atlanta Hobby. Anyways, can the brick successfully be reused on a plane? Just disable the gyro? Anyone done this? I'm thinking about a dual motor micro of some sort.

Not really. Its only has one servo (aileron)

Elevator and Rudder are in the motors.

Yeah, figured that out. I'll be selling it locally after I take out the charger which is what I really wanted.

I just got a BNF tandem over the weekend as a raffle prize at a club function..

I ordered a DM8 module for my Futaba 9Z and got it setup today..

So far it looks good but I haven't had a chance to fly yet..

Any setup recommendations before I take to the sky?

The only thing I've found so far for Futaba is to reverse all 4 channels.

I looked for rubbing of the gears on the body as someone suggested in an earlier post, but nothing there. I've read all the posts in this thread, but can't find where anyone has addressed this. I don't want to ad weight in the back and lose flight time. Has anyone had this problem and corrected it?

Thanks.
I'm having the same problem with mine. I don't have a Dx6i or Dx7 only a LP5DSM and even with full reverse trim it wants to fly forward. I don't know what to do other than put weight in the tail.
Have you or anyone else found a way to correct it?

If its gyroscopically stabilized front to back, Maybe set it on something that elevates the nose wheel a little right after you plug in the battery.

You thinking to sort of "trick" the gyro?

Yes.

It goes fwd/reverse by throttle differences between front/rear. It has to be controlled by a gyro. The mfg specs between the motors is too variable.
