I know there are some that really like this type of heli and it is nice that it is now available. I just bought the MSR so I need to cut back on buying more so soon. I did not see any video yet. I am looking forward to that.

... and once again more than triple the price of other helis with the same size and look ... but I guess that is readily justified considering it is E-Flite.

That was all my coax-career the reason why I didn't buy eflite until I got stuck with a CX3 in an ebay auction ... it is just such a ridiculously gigantic initial investment compared to other manufacturers ... that I did not see where the benefits for me would have been.

Just topple a CX (1 or 2 or 3) in high grass or on carpet and you will most likely need a new set of blades ...

Hopefully they come out with a BNF for a little less money, I dont need another TX. I would add one to the fleet.

1) At least you know where to buy replacement blades for a CX. I had to really hunt to find some for an off name product and it was a guess if they would fit or not.
2) The micro ones don't have the same problem with blades that the larger helicopters (many brands) have with blade breakage.

I have a couple of tandem helicopters already and I bet this will be the best flying one of the bunch.

They sure must like yellow. I hope they quicky release another body with other colors.
I really hated the yellow canopy of my mcx, yuck!

Otherwise, I like this model!

I think the idea on yellow is that it's visible.

I think the idea on Eflite is that it's expensive.

If I'd won the heli lottery and could order anything I wanted for free, I'd definitely get one.

What's curious about Eflite is how stingy they are with models. Like they're the anti-Walkera. Good to see them somewhat breaking out of that. If the little buzzard flies, that is. Even the real-life Chinook has issues.

Looking at the pictures more closely it looks this tandem uses only one servo!
All other coaxial 4 channel models (Walkera Sea Knight models, Twister Chinook, and upcomming Esky Chinook) use two servo's connected by pushrods.
This means the E-flite doesn't controll forward speed by a servo but by changing speed of the fore and aft rotors. Hopefully this makes this the first coaxial 4 channel tandem with decent forward speed.

I'll take a PNP version if they will be available. Looks pretty cool except the color choice. I want one in Camo.

I really like the body for the MCX that I painted. Got a spare and painted it flourescent yellow at the nose blending into fourescent orange at the back and tail with dark blue jagged strip on the side with white "Blade MCX" on side of canopy and "MCX" on tail.

Sounds real nice your MCX canopy! I have seen canopys that are real pieces of art.
But I'm way to lazy for that. I just sit on my couch with a beer in my left hand and a smoke in the other hand, staring at it the whole evening and wondering why on earth they chose such a yucki color ;-)

Hopefully someone will post an update today about seeing it fly at the Ihobby event near Chicago.
