Penguin UAV airframe

Hi everyone,
I would like to introduce myself- my name is Konstantins and I am the co-founder of the uavfactory.com project.

Recently, my team has developed UAV airframe called Penguin. Penguin is a composite, high performance airframe intended for integrators who would like to take a huge leap from the RC airframes and bring their unmanned system to a new level.

Penguin was developed as flexible as possible, without sacrificing the flight performance. All structure is modular and disassembles in parts less than 1100mm in length. Penguin can accept a wide spectrum of engines- from converted four stroke gas engines to RC engines to electric motors. Some of the key design elements are: large payload volume, efficient design, composite structure and low cost.

Prices for a bare Penguin airframe start at 1800 Euros- which is a very small cost, even by RC community's standards. For comparison, same technology can be found in competition sailplanes as F3J, that actually have much higher Price/Kg ratio than Penguin and are mass made products.

Please have a look on attached pdf data sheet as well as visit our website - www.uavfactory.com

Best Regards,
Konstantins Popiks

Dear wbuttry,

I would like to note, that every car we know for (at least) the last 60 years ''looks no different than any other '' - all have four wheels, similar ''body style'' and steering wheel.

Configuration of a particular UAV is defined by a mission that the UAV was designed to perform and this is the reason for similarities between UAVs (and any other product) you see on the market.

We emphasize that our products have amongst the best PRICE/QUALITY/PERFORMANCE ratio for UAV airframes available today. This is an important point.

Not only we offer our Penguin airframes, we also offer a very cost efficient custom UAV airframe development and manufacturing service. This is useful for companies that specialize in autopilot or payload products and would like to offer competitive UAV system (based on their products) in a fast and efficient manner by outsourcing an airframe development task to us. By doing so, they will get a top product in any quantities, optimized for their needs, without the need of actually getting into development of composite airframes (hiring new engineering staff, obtaining expensive machining equipment, buying analysis and design software, and keeping special facilities.)

Hope this answers your question,

Best Regards,

Konstantins Popiks

Hi Kostixx007,

Superb looks plane, I can see that a huge amount has gone into making such a suberb build. Really impressed!! certainly with the materials and how they are used. I think you have produced a product which in the commercial world would cost many thousands more!

Anyone who has tried to build anything like this even near the build quality knows just how much time it takes :-)

well if you can sell the airframe a heck of a lot cheaper than lets say aerovirement that is worth looking into i wasnt trying to be a smart ass or anything like that or anything else i like the way it looks i use a easy star rite now for my needs i might wanna consider something like that later i use my easy star for 2 uses and thats it one is for studing tornado super cells with wireless equipment baro meters wireless vids and still photos i fpv it in to a super cell thunderstorm and search the hook echo for rotation and all my sensors feedback info on the structure of the storm i like the easy star cause if it get ripped apart up there no big deal cheap loss but i wonder how yours would do loitering around up there...

Denham, thanks for the compliments ! You are absolutely right it does take a lot of labour to manufacture something similar.

Wbuttry,
I do agree that Easy star is certainly an excellent option for many FPV and UAV DIY enthusiasts.

Hi Konstantins,

That is a wonderful looking airframe you have there!..... Do you have any video of it flying?

Good luck with future sales and thanks for posting, I may be in the market for an airframe quite soon so I could be in contact with you shortly.

Best regards

Gray.

Hey Kostiks007

Superb plane, Reminds me of the Shadow UAV
Wish I had the money would have bought one from you to use it with the paparazzi autopilot.
Some videos of it flying would be great...

I plan to build a smaller one like this soon
