The scoop and wing are double-stick taped together. Carefully pry apart w/o cutting into the foam. If you do, you can fix the foam.

I mainly use my UM P-51 for inside flying, while im dodging all the other mico's flying around the pattern....but lately I have had the urge to look more scale with a 4 blade prop.

I contacted Speedy01 and followed his instruction by fusing 2 stock props together....it was easy and came out better then I thought.....I have already test flown the P-51, I still have to cut down the diameter a bit.

I thought I would share a pic of my progress so far....this is my second UM P-51 and it remains in stock trim for now. My previous P-51 had the "Detroit Miss" color scheme.

Mine has a few creases in the wing, but still flying. It would be in better condition except for a dumb mistake - pretty soon after getting it, I started the Detroit Miss mods. Part of that was a new clear canopy and pilot from Park Flyer plastics. When it was done, it flew terribly, extremely pitch sensitive, and even when I would get it settled down in the air, it inevitably went into pitch oscillations when I tried to land, usually resulting in it diving in from a few feet.

Another poster here finally turned me on to the fact that the canopy conversion had moved back the CG. With the batteries now mounted under the cowling, it flies great, one of my favorite planes! Wish I had figured that out before the damage.

Looks terrific! How much have you trimmed your 4-blade? I'm about to put mine on and was wondering that.

Sax...I cut 1/4 inch off each blade then rounded out the tips and added yellow for effect.....I just need to test fly to see if I picked up a few rpms and added a minute or so to the flight time...before LVC kicks in.

A brushed motor conversion with the 4 blade would be ideal....

Now I am getting th itch to make one with Old Crow graphics and a Park Flyer Plastics clear canopy. I met the pilot of the Old Crow, Bud Andersen. The photos were taken at Warbirds Over The Rockies 2011.
