Has anyone tried using eflight's 500mah 1s? Haven't seen any posts on it. I tried it with my micro p-51 and it get's 30min+ flight times. Surprisingly, the extra 350mah gives it some extra power. Even with the extra weight, the p-51 flies just about the same as if you ran it one the stock 150mah battery.

30+ minutes? I use the Lectron Pro 3.7 volt - 270mAh 12C batteries. They aren't as heavy and give me at least 12 minutes. I don't go to LVC, though, and they probably go longer.

When I pulled off the decals on the p-51 they left ruff marks on the body. How can I erase these marks?

Does anyone know who makes drop tanks for the P-51? I saw them on the main thread, but don't recall who makes them or what page they are on.

I know ParkFlyerPlastics make various accessory's for electric aircraft. I know some people have used ParkFlyerPlastics's drop tanks for their micro p-51 but i'm not 100% sure which size. Here's the link to the various droptanks:http://parkflyerplastics.com/cart/in...4636bd4391a29e

UltraMicro, I thought of that just after making that post, but it was not them, the smallest drop tank is just slightly too big. The tanks I'm thinking of were vacuum formed by someone on here for their own plane and they then decided to offer them to other modelers too.

Yellow Baron,

I made blue construction foam molds a while back and vac formed .010 styrene takes with micro rare earth magnets for the wings and tank so they would pop on and off they were pretty cool when flying and landing WO LG on a gym floor since they would sometimes pop off on landings. Someone took them while at an indoor fly-in, I have not made another set. I made some for JoesS475 you can see them on pages 19, 21 and flying on his plane on page 31 of this forum.

I also did a paper and foam set of paper tanks for another P-51 mod I did.

Somewhere in this forum I did posts on each build and there are pic's here somewhere on the vac formed tanks on mine while flying.

Mtflyr,

Did you ever make a set of the 75 gallon aluminum tanks that were used before they switched to the pressed paper ones later in the war?

Yes, if yoy mean the tear drop aluminum DT's, look back at the pages I noted noted. As I said someone took them while at an indoor fly in.

Pete,

Those are the ones I'm thinking of! Sorry to hear about your set getting lost.

Mounting new motor - getting wing off.

I'm trying to put a new motor in my micro Mustang. During customizing it, I glued down the top part of the fuse. I made a hatch from the front of the cockpit to the nose, but I now see the wires for the motor run underneath the receiver brick. What's the best way to remove the scoop and lower fuselage to get to the brick?

Thanks,
Angelo
