Wow, had never heard of your company. Great selection! Weight is a concern with the UM's. The included graphics/decals on the P-51 (and Ember also) are quite thin or sheer. Are you working with similar thin materials?

Thanks for the link.

I bought about a yard of it through a company here called GE Polymershapes. A yard is just about cheaper than a little sheet of trim Monocote. They distribute to local sign makers that use the material to cut out vinyl letters. It's just the thinnest Avery brand vinyl in a silver colour to save a bit of weight. I goes around curves nicely as well and is quite sticky so it doesn't peel off. Like I say, it is a pretty good match for the Tamiya Silver Leaf paint which has a bit of sparkle to it.

I certainly understand the weight concern! I'm using the thinest vinyl on the market. It is 2 thousanths of a mil thin. I printed out a Shangri-La set and balled all the graphics into a sticky little mess! I then put them on my postage scale. The scale didn't move at all.

I'm afraid I've not had the stickers that come with the kit in hand, so I can't compare them side by side. Anything that weighs more than air will of course weigh these down, but I think they won't be noticed any more than the stock graphics. Hope this helps!

Another thought.... if anyone has a digital scale that can measure grams, I'd be happy to send my sample over to be accuratly weighed.

I have a digital scale, with a supposed range of 1 gram to 2000 grams. I think I need close to 2 grams before it will register. I use it for weighing battery packs, ESC's, etc. It will also measure in Ounces.

I don't think swapping the decals for the callie graphics affected the weight on mine.

The paint on the other hand (using the rattle can) likely added some. It ended up a bit tail heavy after the paint. I put some small nails in the nose to compensate and it flies just like it did before.

.1 gram scales are $12 off Ebay.

A + or - 1 gram scale won't be too useful for this measurement.

short video clip some aerobatics almost lost it but recovered and flying in wind
dont forget to " Watch in HD "

double click window below and if the video stutters or stops let it stream till the end and click "replay" and it will be fine.
HD youtube videos will normally stutter on a wifi[wireless] or slow DSL connection but if you let it run through and replay it will be OK.

Just as soon as I can I will show my decals for the stang. I have 3 different decal jobs going right now though.

I am anxious to see how the white decal paper works out for the dark models.
