Thanks W.T.K.

I used to live in Del Rio many years ago, not too far from you. Nice fishing at Lake Amistad, if it hasn't dried up with all this heat.

Russ

P.S. Yes I HATE mechanical gear! I've never made a steerable nose wheel though so a little worried about that. I've got several servoless retracts laying around but they are probably too big as they are for FMS P-51 and P-47 main gear, the 54 gram ones.

Del Rio was a fun place, used to go to Amistad all the time!
Not anymore, with all of the Mexican drug war stuff going on...

The FMS gear might work if you could re-index the gear leg 90deg.
Nosewheel would have to be bought though.

Hi Russ, Here are the pics of my landing gear. THe nose gear came with the plane. I don't know if the kit has this piece but if not, I'm sure you can order it.

hey you all who may have just ordered the $49 P-38 form BananaHobby, let us all know please asap what version you get.
I'd order one if I already didn't have to to build. I still might order one as a back up. but I'd rather have the newer retracts than have to convert an old version1 again.

thanks fellow flyers

You should turn the main gear around so the wheel is outside

It doesn't come with ANY retracts or just mechanical?

Thanks,

Russ

P.S. Mine is supposed to be here December 5th. I assumed mechanical retracts were installed and I would be elated if no retracts were installed so I can put my own servoless retracts without digging out the mechanicals.

Looks like mechanical retracts so my guess is V1. I get mine delivered tomorrow.

It's definitely the V1.
Motors, mechanical retracts, and pilot are all V1 standard.
