If you guys wanna choose the paintscheme of the FMS-bird, go here:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...5#post18388526

Man, I still own V1 of this J-Power bird... I never overcame the resistance to get working on it so far, don't even know where to start...
So it is still in pieces in the box and might just stay right there. Just the poorest ARF I have ever bought...

Cheers,
Bernhard

[QUOTE=Roswalt;18389601]Lithonion, you and I are on exactly the same page... Interesting timing with the FMS Lightning reveal, but I remember the FMS T-28 reveal about a year ago and we still don't have those here in the USA yet

Roswalt, Nitroplanes has the T28 in stock now if your still wanting one.

Roger that - Placed my order for the T-28 within 10 minutes of that one going live. I'd been waiting to snipe it for a very long time! Thanks for the heads-up though.

Search for the word "manual" in this thread, it is buried back in an old post where it was uploaded as a huge scanned image by one of the guys.

Found it: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showa...9&d=1283130437

Thanks for posting that mdugas. I had not seen that one before. Yeah, like Dangaras said, kits are too much work...For me at least. I know there's builders out there who live for kits and even scratch builds but I just don't have the tools and talent for those.

It's ARFs for me. If the kit is AMAZING I could talk my builder buddy into building one for me at the right price. The Yellow kit has me intrigued but I am holding out hope someone will build a SUPER scale, 65+" P-38 composite/ARF or even foamy soon.

chipping props

Any ideas on how to get more clearance for the props? The runway my friend uses to fly off of is not too smooth, resulting in lots of damaged props. Smaller props maybe? Thanks for any help

Longer gear legs, bigger tires, longer nose gear in relation to mains.
Smaller props will reduce performance.

Not sure any of those will work with retracts, maybe different (eflite) retracts?

Not that difficult. Bit of fiddling and foam cutting to accomodate the wheels and adjust the doors. The HK 312 e-tracts are virtual drop-ins with only 4 new holes to be drilled in the base plate using the servo-retract base plate as a template. Making the nose strut longer is a bit more tricky because of the streering.

Yeah, new retracts are the easiest choice if you want to do those mods.
Gear bay and doors will also have to be modified for larger tires/struts.
Lots of guys here are using Eflite retracts, HK has some that work well but are rarely in stock.
