Dont the MAS 10x7x3s almost hit the ground ?? I put on some 9x7.5 APC two blade props and they are only a half inch from the payment I think ? BTW, two blade 9x7.5 props with upgraded park 480 motors dont really make the plane fast enough for me, I cant even imagine the plane getting off the ground with an all stock setup.

Yes, they hit, but then, so did the stock props. With the 3-blade and no ESC brake, they just rotate out of the way when landing. Again, probably a 9x7x3 would work better.

I used BP 2810-11 (1200Kv) motors.This is no speed demon, but is considerably faster than stock. It does have thrust for days, however.

Did you join the two spars in the center with anything? I used a piece of tempered wire to join mine and a CF tube in the wire channel.

Is your's a ver1 or ver2? Have you compared any amp/watt numbers?

Fired the motors up for the 1st time yesterday. Ran some batteries through to check out the watt/amp readings and here is what I got.

All on stock Ver2 motors 1100kv and stock props

3s 2200mah 35c @ 12.26V 482.2Wp 45.24Ap
3s 2200mah 45c @ 12.57V 573.4Wp 50.30Ap
4s 2200mah 35c @ 16.45v 979.7Wp 69.19Ap

I only ran the 4s at WOT for a few secs just to get the reading but I'm pretty sure I'd fry the ESCs if I kept it up. Aren't they rated for 30Amps?

The 1st 3s pack was about a 3/4 charge so it should be more representive of acutal use, the 2nd pack was at full charge and was a 45C pack.

Have my MAS 10X7X3 CR props on order, should be here tomorrow. Already bought the tractor MAS props.

In the stock setup, the motors have some right/down thrust angles built in already. It looks like the foam is acutally angled because the plexi is flat and the motor mounts to the plexi with no spacer.

If I go CR, do I have to straighten the thrust angles out?

Mine is a v1. I've had it for about a year now. The two BP motors combined with the MAS 10x7x3s pull about 53A and 600W. These motors with the stock props pull about 48A and 530W.

IIRC, with the stock motors and stock props, it was closer to around 300W. I think the new v2 motors are likely a bit stronger.

When spinning try some opposite aileron---Flattens the spin a bit so that it doesn't look so weird..

Well I'm in the hunt for the V1 battery tray/lid. Beautiful evening so I took her to the top of this hill by my house with beautiful views. Suddenly during mid flight the winds kicked up. And boy do I mean kick up! Suddenly I was negotiating through 35-40mph winds! Holy cow!!

Our area is in the Cascade foothills, known for winds but this really took me by complete surprise. So as I am bringing her in for a very hairy final, I saw the lid go flying off (the force of the gusts flipped it right off the magnetized base!)...I tried my best to triangulate to search after landing...Brought her in and dropped throttle right as my wings found level and made an uneventful touchdown. Whew!

I searched for the lid but to no avail. It's flat olive blended with the tall grassy hillside to perfection. Anyone have a spare they want to sell?

Try doing a spin with differential thrust, the wings turn into rotor blades and you gain altitude from spinning so fast.
OK, well maybe there's some creative licensing involved there, but I swear it descends like a parachute in a thermal.
No possible way to keep track of orientation, and I can pretty much keep track of my PZ Sukhoi XP with max throws on the ailerons....crazy stuff

Different motors, servoless retracts, different methods of wing joining and boom attachment...

So what version is the one from HobbyKing

nevermind i see the pics its ver 1 thats why the price is so cheap

BH has the airframe version for $89.00 None of the versions have good motors or retracts.

Hobbyking is supposed to have the V2, they just haven't updated the page.
Only problems I've heard about the V2 retracts is that they don't like being subjected to water (dew on grass).
