he means a setup like this... for example

2 antennas (this is 2 patches, but it could be any type of antennas), placed 3.5 wavelengths apart, both at different heights above the ground.

So does that stand true with my question Mike? Do I need to place my omni's .33 meters apart for best reception? Im a rookie at this stuff. Understanding wavelengths and antenna positioning/seperation is somewhat confusing. Its also daunting to search this forum for exact info as its all buried in threads

I have the Craig TV mounted on my GS and it is working great, I can't wait to use it on Sunday. I am going to power it with a 3s 5000mah pack.

Sorry Galax pissed me off lol

There is a formula that you put the .33 meters into

like .33 X 2.5 ( or any of them depends on your video audio cable lengths) = distance apart from centre to centre not on the same level as the ground

experiment with your set ups

So my one omni is say 6 feet from the oracle
thats my legth of video audio wire from it.

Postition that say four feet from the ground vertical

from the centre , close to the middle of the actual omni antenna

the other omni can be placed on the opposite side of the oracle at a different height

and lets say horizontal, so you can fly above your self and have good video.

the 1/2 , 1.5 etc are multiples you use to figure out the distance between the two omnis

given you have a certain amount of audio video cable length

mine are close to equal for each rx, the height make most of my separation

you calculate each multiple untill you arive at a fair distance that your video audio cables reach

for instance i think mine is 86.5 inches, like shown in my picture at the beginning.

my tape measure is stiff so I take one end hold it at the middle of the patch
extend it to the centre of the omni and adjust to the calculated distance

I put my omni up as high as my tripod goes, put the patch down, because that time out flying I was going up and out, ie patch
and all around me fairly low, ie omni up high

i like to space stuff out with in reason

i hope this helps

and "best reception" is a relative term. The idea is that if you have multipath interference, the two paths will cause issues at one location and the second location should be relatively unaffected. If you place the two strategically in this location then the chances are that if one is affected the other will be better and your oracle receiver should have a better chance of switching.

One antenna doesnt affect the other... you are improving reception, you are improving diversity...

Webdr has and said it is fine, I am going to build a viewing box for it anyway so I am not worried about it. I absolutely love my stationary GS again, this TV is so lite and the BNC to VGA converter has eliminated the blue screen.

Tomorrow I will install the Receivers, Oracle and the BNC to VGA converter. I am going to power the BNC/VGA with a CC BEC right off the main 3s 5000mah because it takes 5 Volts. So I will let you know the total Amp draw of the Whole set up.

I hear you Quicksilver he is on my ignore list so I don't have to see what he posted. Don't worry, I will never respond to him again.
