Appreciate any help on this.

lol.... I actually drew up my battery cutouts that I wanted in autocad and got some quotes for people to cut it for me.

Quotes for a single insert were 500+ dollars

So needless to say I cut my own.....

Check upholstery places, they may not have black foam but have plenty scraps of white/yellow of different densities.
I usually get the scarps for free since they will end up in a garbage.

I thought this guy said it was about $20 to fit a Pelican with new foam. Not sure what size case that was... but around the size of a 1620. You could check. It's in NorCal tho so you'd pay sales tax and shipping which I'm guessing gets it pretty far from $20. Maybe the place by you would match his quote?

you put your soldering iron on it, and it wont melt for 10+ secs!
Also, the stuff i got sticks more than regular sticky tape..

its good stuff ^^

timnilson: Lexan Ground-Station

Here is my Ground Station I just finished tonight. Inspired by the MK-Stefan Ground Station, the goal was to create a small GS that packs a punch and looks good. I wanted to be able to have everything on one tripod -- monitor, batteries, antenna & tracker, everything. The GS has a 7" monitor as well as Goggle connections for FatShark Goggles. The gear includes:

Video RX: ImmersionRC Duo5800
Distribution: ImmersionRC PowerBox
DVR: Not yet in
Antenna: 19db Patch and 9db Omni
Antenna Tracker: ImmersionRC EzTracker
Power: 2 redundant 5000mah Lipos

The hardest part of this build was to design and custom CNC manufacture the Lexan enclosure. Build log of this GS.

Lexan FPV Ground Station (1 min 41 sec)

It would be nice if someone with the knowhow would make a list of suitable lcds for fpv and ways/solutions how to overcome the bluescreen of death problem.

Great looking clean station! Like the old Apple computers it will be a pain to clean once dust gets in there, but... that's a ways off! It looks sweet. I'm wondering how you'll deal glare on the box since there is no hood for the monitor?

Thank you CaliDave. The monitor is there just for back-up and passengers. The main viewing device are FatShark "base" goggles that plug into the side of the box where the volt meters are. I was not too concerned with glare for that reason.
