RCLander new modified 90mm EDF set testing video

Dear All,

Attached is our new modified 90mm EDF set testing video for sharing with you. The modification step is added a new small size metal fan between the motor and main blade for increasing the ventilation performance in order to protect and raise the motor performance. The small size metal fan can be let the fresh air coming in from the new metal rear tube and pass through the motor out from the front window with the thrust air under the negative pressure during operation. It is shown a very well result and able support to take 8S power for 90mm size edf. This time I take a lower kv amount(1280kv) motor (same size as the 6S version) and use 8S power to make the test. This modification will be applied to the existing 6S 90mm version and coming 120mm 12S version.

Hello Tim,

This is a great progress, I will be pleased to try it once available !

I spent many time trying to identify an 8S motor which could fit your 90mm EDF.

Could you let me know what are the motor reference you used, or a list or preferred motors for 8S setup ?

Also, I would appreciate to get the following, for the 90mm EDF :
- the max diameter of the motor
- the distance between fixing holes
- the type of screw required

6.77 lbs of thrust at just shy of 2000 watts of power, how does this stack up against the competition?

Do you know the eflux velocity?

Things were getting pretty toasty after the airflow was removed! Wonder where the temp tops out?

What were the temperature of the same setup prior to the modification? I see the temp was hitting 62-68C.

tim i hate to say it, but that 120mm version blade sure looks like...err...looks exactly like a turbax rotor. thats not cool unless you got permission from JHI to use it.

The upgrade version 90mm edf will be expected to launch on or before end of next week. Since we are stilling waiting the new upgrade spare parts which will be received on early of next week.

I feel like your skirting around the question.

For those that have the 6s setup, are you going to be offering us the ability to purchase the 8s motor for our existing fans?
