Mine too came with skids, no wheels; but that was well over a year ago...

I am due to put another one of these in my hangar, I just have too many projects to get off my bench right now.

Hi Scott, I use the 8FG and a 6106HF receiver (with the case removed) on my TVVPP MX's.

Hmm I guess I forgot they don't come with wheels. I actually never even use the skids, I build mine to skid on the foam of the bottom of the wheel pant. If building a normal MX2 kit that way, cut off the fake wheel profile from the bottom of the pant and just let it skid on the flat portion.

I use a whole variety of sizes on my airplanes. I use .020" rod, and .030,.040,.060, and .080 tube for various parts of the build.

Thanks RJ, just finished up putting the Mamo together and played around with TV last week. I just coupled the TV with the ruder servo. Worked well, but now need the extera channels to put it all together.

I know your factory Futaba but what do think about using the new HS 35's on both the TV and VPP servos?
Small, light, and decent power.

Thanks Again...

Actually, you're just fine leaving the vectoring coupled to the rudder servo. That's how my first TVVPP planes were, and I may go back to that setup. There's no need to have them separated. The extra servo just adds weight really, though it does make trimming easier.

I don't personally have any experience with those HS35's. I'm sure they'd be fine on the pitch control. Vectoring, I'm not sure... it might be borderline with that servo. What torque do they claim on those?

First atempt is going to be a 6mm EPP MX2. I just traced your plane and cut it out last night. Im planning on milling out the wings and elevator. Also my first atempt. I just might go with one servo for rudder and TV to keep the weight down.
Im using a Hacker A20 34s, Hoping to be able to make it work on 2cell.

Definitely keep the weight down as much as possible then, and run 9" blades. The HS35 would probably work on vectoring, if you wanted to go that route, if it actually puts out that much torque. But my experience is all with 8" blades on lighter motors and airplanes... so it might be too much. For now, I'd suggest sticking with the coupled setup.

Best of luck, let us know how it works!

Honestly, I have no experience with that motor. I have heard that a lot of people have been disappointed with the power it has compared to other motors for VPP... but I don't know for sure. Maybe someone here has used it and can share their thoughts.

The DVD does not talk about VPP building and setup. It goes through a normal MX2 build and setup of the airframe, but not a VPP system. I do fly my printed/milled VPP MX2 in the video, but I don't think there are any details on its setup. Sorry!

There's lots of good info in this thread about typical VPP setups on this airplane. If you have any questions, just ask and I'll try to help!

I beleave he is Factory Hacker, I think he is running one of the A10 series motors, not sure witch one tho.

RJ, I have a a10 9L, would this work beter than the A20 34s for my VPP set up? What do you have to do to make the mamo fit the 9L? I also have access to a A10 13L, but i know that this motor does not like 2cell, its an ape on 3cell but trying to stay away from having to run a 3cell. If i have to i will have to pick up a few 250 mah's to try to keep the weight down.

Also where do you order your CF tube in the small diameter?

Thanks for all your help!

If I remember from an earlier post he is running an A10-9L with a custom shaft to fit the Mamo unit. He has also built the plane light so that the weight with VPP is about the same as with out.
Most use the Hacker A20-34s with 9" blades on 2s or 8" blades on 3s.
The Axi 2203/40 is the other recommended motor for the Mamo setup.
