Hey guys, sorry to ditch the thread but I just got back from the KIEF indoor in Pennsylvania. We spent the weekend wringing out the new MX2 and it sure is a blast! Thanks for answering questions for me, Seth.

To answer Troy's question about differences in flying qualities to the Yak... having not flown a Yak in quite a while, it's not very fresh in my mind, but the one thing that sticks out in addition to what Seth said is that the MX2 has much more control response, especially in pitch. It seems to fly smoother than the Yak in normal flight, yet will flip around much faster when you start banging the sticks. This, coupled with a very floaty feel at low speeds, gives the MX2 a very wide flight envelope.

Hope that makes some sense...

RJ

Louu, I highly suggest the Hacker A10-9L. This airplane really benefits from the power of the 9L. The 15S will fly it, but it will be underpowered for heavy 3D.

That should work fine! You might get some aileron blowback with the S185 on the ailerons, but I haven't personally tried it so I can't say for sure...

Not exactly sure, it's a little more than the Yak. I can do the math when I get home if you really want to know...

wcc963,

RJ was nice enough to give me some stick time on the MX2 at KIEF. Very responsive and agile plane without any bad habits.

2 185s for the ailerons should be plenty of torque. 188s will be a little bit faster and crisper (for starting/stopping fast rolls), and MX2 airframe is certainly of the quality where you would notice the difference.

By blowback I mean the servo does not have enough torque to push the ailerons to full deflection against the air pressure at flying speeds. I am using Futaba S3114's or S3154's all around on my airplanes. Both have about 23 oz of torque, but the 3154 is digital so a little more expensive.

I would recommend two 185s per aileron. 1 185 really isn't quite enough because of the blowback they get on those large ailerons.
