My Pitts just arrived - looked very nice, and the color-scheme is even better than showed by hobbyking at their site. The underside is checkered blue/white.

The only usual annoying thing is that the connectors from esc to battery are different from any i've got on hobbyking batteries..

Good news to hear. Switch those connectors to deans and go fly. We need video to live vicariously through you on while the rest of us have to wait on ours.

SabreHawk, I usually fly on a grass field, so on parkflyers I usually shun landing gear and rigid props. Do you think maybe there's a support for a curved protruding skid wire near the firewall to keep the nose from burying into the sod on landing? I then would use a folding prop, use braking, and kill the throttle just prior to touchdown. I find planes fly faster without the gear too.

No deans - switched to the hobbyking bullet connectors. My new turnigy-batteries came with these as well - the only annoying part was that they had switched male/female compared to what I've had before from hobbyking on the skyartec cessna.

Well, the evening is spent, and now the soldering, assembling, taping, it's all done, even took a few pictures. So here's what I have to share with you guys waiting for your plane:

Did anyone else notice the fact that the PITTS is backwards on the right side of the vertical stab?????? This annoys me.

email CS@hobbyking.com. I already have and hopefully this can be fixed. Please email them too and maybe the masses can help fix this small but large error.

I saw that in the pics, and had to laugh.

I saw that it's mirrored there yes, didn't worry me too much - if I wanted hobbyking to fix anything on this plane the battery-compartment would be the first thing. Just making the opening bigger would help a lot. Using their own type of connectors wouldn't hurt either.

But overall I love the looks of this plane - unfortunately winds are around 15-20 miles/hour today, and the weather forecast is quite bad the next days, so the maiden will have to wait.

im about to place an order for one, and am wondering if its just covered in stickers?

i'd like to paint mine up like "super stinker", the super pitts special flown by aussie aerobatic legend Chris Sperou.

also, which is the best suited battery for this model? im hoping to run with a 1500 pack but noticed some are long and skinny, others are more square shaped.

It all looks like stickers from the photos I have seen.

I need to find an electric smoke system now. Thanks

i thought it looked like stickers, thats good news as my order went in about 2 minutes ago

one $79usd airplane
$57usd EMS freight.

still a darn cheap plane @ $150 aussie tho.

haha, i was wondering about the smoke trail myself.

prolly' just stick a streamer from its tail i guess.

if youve had a hobby lobby bomb module come apart a little while attached to your plane you'd know how the talcum powder within makes an awesome trail (short lived tho)
theres gotta be an idea in there somewhere. maybe a container with a drink straw as air intake and another to allow the talc to exit in a controlled manner.
