sounds like the ducts need another layer of glass to stiffen them up for the dyna max fan .

Well all I can say is WOW!
This fan has a lot of power! I guess to the ones flying it that's no surprise... but I'm shocked that a 20+ year old fan and outrunner can beat the snot out of state of the carbon fiber fan with an inrunner and sound so nice doing it. The Dyn-E-Max is very smooth running and quite... right there with the Stu Max... but has a great deep growl. At full throttle the rush of air out the tail and in the ducts sounds amazing pulling vertical... that's something you just have to hear in person... but the video does pick it up some... The numbers on the ground did show me something... that extra 3.5 pounds static thrust at half throttle is amazing... My A-4 flies very well at half throttle... (In fact in the video you hear my shock when I say "That’s half power") one could do a whole scale type flight at half throttle. Now that I can power back so much and fly well longer flights will not be a problem. I did two short flights today...3:00 and 3:30 on my timer. The first only brought the cells to 3.9 per cell and the second 3.85. Next week I'm going to set two timers...one for a scale 5:00 flight. The other more aggressive 4:00 flight. This gives me over a 1:00 on the DS setup... the vertical was very impressive, I pulled a huge loop which my bud missed (he caught some of it) I'm so pleased with this setup... Being that this is a 2 pound fan and makes so much power it's a real winner. I thank Fred for the great setup...it has made a real believer out of me... in fact it has so much power I don't think 6500 mah pack would be a problem at all.. Maybe down the road I'll mess with it... My friend Tom (helps me with video) couldn't make it out today... so my bud at the field helped out ... he has never shot video and did his best... the second flight a 3d plane took off right after me.. So we have to hear the glow engine I'll open her up next time out... these flights are almost all 1/2 throttle except the vertical... The second flight is still loading and will be up in an hour... Here’s the first flight:

Nice. How would you judge the speed between this setup and the previous setup at the same throttle setting? As far as the dynamax having more thrust, that's a no brainer. It has always been known as a thrust fan. Did I hear flutter at about 2:30 in the video?

Ron,
Very nice ! I can't wait to get mine installed in my YA F-4. We're hoping to keep the weight around 12 - 14 lbs. I've still got a lot of building to do, but I'm hoping for a couple of months max. If your's is any indication, it should go like a bat out of !
