Barry thats pretty much what we have...some gap is needed so the duct wont rub on the spinner.these "trapped ducts" are a pain ..dont really understand why the front cant be glued.....if i had one i would just bond it with silicon ,so they would'nt rattle around in there....to get the fan out all you have to do is slide the fan back 1/2" and take the tail pipe off and it's out of there.
i put one duct in tonite to test fit it ...seems ok need a few adj to the plugs .i'll get some pics in the morn.

that's not a bad idea, cause if service is needed, ya just rip it out and re-silicone. i just toy so much i do the jam in thing.

Very Nice A.S!!
they are looking great!

I had a close call with the A-4 today... I put it up in a 14 mph cross wind..
I will not do that again
coming in I was so crossed up... and getting pushed towards the fence.
I got her down but messed up a main strut... I have to order a new one
that's the last time I push my luck in cross wind... the A-4 has a big stab and really gets pushed sideways... maybe a 5 mph cross wind... but not much more... very lucky!

going to get the strut out and see if I can fix it... if not order a new one from Tam...

Keep up the good work on the ducts!!
keep us posted
Ron

Ron, nice save. I can't imagine flying in a cross wind as stong as that. I have my hands full when its that hard right down the runway.
AS, nice work on the ducts. Makes the A4 a nice project with a modification like that.

Thanks guys.. but I was just plain lucky
I was out of control and did all I could to not hit to hard... pretty lame on my part... but I was just dieing to fly it. I wish I had the video of that...it was crabing so hard it looked insane

Both stuts have a teak in them now and won't work smooth without binding..
Looks like I'm giving some green backs to Tam
but the good news is nothing is broke.. I went over it well and everything seems fine... hope he has some in stock

Got to get her fixed fast!! and slap in the new ducts ..AZ is coming soon

Bob just picked up his A-4 so now it's his turn to work on her . i have a few issues to fix on the plugs to get them to fit a bit better ...im going to go with 2 layers of glass so they will be up to the task.
