The secret to gliding performance is years of building and flying experience.

just trying to understand the hilarious, curious irony of PSS. I have a PSS model myself: why am if trying to make a fighter jet fly like a glider? I dont get why i, or anyone else likes PSS, perhps its the thrill of the illusion that im breaking the aerodynamic rules. or maybe its becuase i hate the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee of a ducted fan.

Never seen a full scale Ceres or Acacia or Pike, but I'll be darned if they don't fly better than any scale toy I've seen on the slope.

Shouldn't the last "s" be deleted to make this statement more appropriate..

For me its the pure bloody mindedness of it...IT WILL FLY GOOD... keep telling myself that as i chase a wildly out of trim/balance/just no good model round the sky......maybe like taming a mustang and riding it....(horse not P51).......mmm maybe both.

So there we are. 7.00am. Port Safaga, Red Sea. Windsurfing up from the Shams to the sandbars of an island that is Tobia. Fantastic wind and a beam reach, maxed out on next year's state of the art slalom kit with flying fish leaping around us. An hour of playing and then the reach back to the hotel for a late breakfast.
We get back to find a group of German riders on the beach clustered round one if their party who looked like he'd been shot in the shin with a large caliber handgun. Turned out he'd been windsurfing at 20+knt when some kind of flying fish came the other way at about 30kt. It left a very bony head embedded in his leg. Medevac home job.
Felt a bit twitchy about that ever since.
Best flying fish to sail with are in the Canaries. Huge with massive flights.
