Tony,

but then what will i use to tape to the flybar and the frame as a flybar lock? hahah. That's what I have been using that antenna tube for. Great idea, thanks!

RCnewb,

I get what you are saying now with the washers to clamp down the servo.

Thanks,

Brian

I wish I got the EXI CArbon for $140. BEtween the shipping from Hobby City and all the metal upgrades I had to buy for the GT, it cost me just as much. I had to buy the upgrades because plastic broke, not because the metal is nicer and more flashy.

I have had it built for over 2 weeks but only have a few flights on it just because the plastic tail case broke in flight and has taken me that logn to trck down the cause of the problem and order the right parts.

My flying style is going to be more 3d so that is why on the trex or the exi.
I know i can make it cheaper but getting everything that is not in stock at hk.

I replaced the feathering and main shaft before even flying. i rolled them on glass and the Align shafts were perfect and ran great. After mine crashed and I replaced the stock tail rotor shaft with Align and now mine runs so much more smoothly. I suspect that the stock one was bent and I replaced with an Align part.

Removed main shaft and tail shaft, main head and swash, tail head and disconnected the tail via the belt.

Place main shaft in drill press (just like ti was a drill bit) and turn on to see if shaft is bent. Do the same with the tail shaft.

Spin up and test just with motor.

Re-install main shaft and test

Reinstall tail shaft reconnect tail belt and test.

Install tail head and test

Install tail blades and test

Install swash and test

Install head and test

Install main blades and test

I found out I had a slightly bent main shaft and slightly bent tail shaft. Replaced both and smooth as buttah now!

several pages back folks kind of complained. You should use the thread search function on that motor and you can find the comments. One fellow said it vibrated or some such thing.

Thats the motor I have. Works fine for me as far as I can tell. Runs very smooth. Using 6s and 13t pinion.

Well I hope it fixes it, but I am still waiting on the new aluminum tailcase from Hobby City.

Thanks all for the pointers and advice. The main blades COG, balance, and weight distribution were spot-on out of the box, but did not balance the tail blades at all!! Will take off main blades and watch vibration, then balance tail blades and look again. The vibration is in the boom area, not the main frame.
Didn't notice any vibration on first spin-up without the main blades, however.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, will go through the techspy rebuild plan.
Robin's comment about system resonance was interesting.

Thanks much.... just a little closer.

Yeah I am impressed with the blades. I have had 2 sets of the same blades and they cg and balance to the gram out of the box.

I requested a developer set.... but looks like I'm behind thousands of others.

What was the temperature like when your tail case broke? Same thing happened to this guy (although he was just spooling up), but he still likes his HK500.

I would like to ask some help from the forum.
I finished assembling hk 500 gt.
I bind the receiver Ar6110e .
I use for left aileron servo : aileron input , rigth aileron servo :aux input. Throtle input : esc , gyro :rudder input gyro ajust : gear.
Everything works but not rigth servo.
I bind again and check the receiver and servos.OK
If i disconnect both ailerons (all others are connected) turn the receiver on and first plug one aileron it works , then connect the second aileron (receiver is always on) every works fine.
If now turn receiver off and turn on again the same problem.
Bind again but nothing.
It look like if both aileron are connected at the same time rigth can not work.
The dx6 position i bind is factory settings.
I changed to type heli , swash 120 , -60 -60 +60.
Servo, gyro and esc are models hobbyking suggest under the hk500gt page.
Thank you .
