After struggling to get the bearings off my 500 bevel gear, a while ago, I decided to get one of these:

It's a must have for the tool kit, if you have a TT tail, and it's only $7.90.

Thanks Mhills and Biker Dude for the tail answers. My CopterX500 hit the dirt a few months ago after a tail rotor grip screw broke, so i guess CopterX suffer the same flaw as the HK500.

I think the problem with that canopy is that its for the 'pro' frame, which from my understanding is not as wide as the older 'e' and 'esp' frames.

It also will not hold down. Instead of using a front lip it uses two more body mounts in the front. You can see them from the picture. Just like the 600 or 700pro.

Looks like tarot is at it again. This is a copy of the pro tt tail for $19 not bad for the price and a new set of bearings. They also got a DFC head block, so they are coming out with their own.

500 pro canopy: According to the comments left by a purchaser it can be used on the hk500e, only the bottom gromets won't be used. Atomic if this is not the canopy you had in mind. ther is a good chance it has not been shipped yet. Change your order.

Someone in the discussion thread said it would fit on an HK500 without modifications. If that won't work then I'll just add the two extra canopy mounts to the frame. The 500 pro frame is only a few mm narrower than the ESP frame but if it's a problem then a heat gun will fix that (same method you use to fix a lopsided canopy)

I ordered it deliberately because I like the longer canopy. I think that the stock canopy makes the 500 look squat and would like something more like a 450 Sport canopy. I hate the 450 Pro canopy for the same reason. Whoever designed the 450 Pro and the 500 must have liked the look but to me it looks ugly.

Functionally what is the difference between that and the ESP tail? the differences only look cosmetic to me.

Stiffer more squared end for the TT gears. I think it's lighter as well. All the align model tails are going to this design. As well as ALZRC and now Tarot.

So I'd flown the 500 and started flying the 450. Then I decided to try to go inverted.
With the 450. And I did.

Does it count if you have to rebuild afterwards?

Had the same thing last night with the mcpX. Was hovering inverted... lipo started to go low and had no balls to lift out. Blades ended up slowing down and had no option but to land inverted.

Pick it up, chagne lipo and all was good
