I mean, after some months of flights, it can be trusted? Or does the hardware fail or software spazz out randomly and burn up?

Edit, sorry about your canopy. It looked sweet.
I don't put expensive stuff on helis yet

Well I wish it was a burn up, but a software spazz.

I got the 510M gears today, should be ready for another round on Sunday. I also got the green Youngblood 500 dampers. Look out Curtis!

Sorry, I assumed it burned up. (Who wouldn't?)

Edit: Note to self, read posts completely.

I have the 510m servos in my new 500. I also have the DFC head and HB800 for it at some point. Most likely right after I crash it and destroy the fly-bar head. I got another SpringRC servo for the tail. What can I say it holds the 500pro solid so for $25 I'm putting another one on the 500e and if it works just as good I'll replace my tarot 9257 on the 450pro.

Some flexible CA and a good set of sharpie marker pens could make that damage almost disappear, certain from the one meter test.

Just got my 450 back together, but I am not flying or going out side it's 105 not dry, but wet so it feels like 120.
We have the All star game here in Kansas City and I can see people getting off the plane from out of state and saying SEE global warming, but no it's just July in KC

I set up the YEP 45A on gov store, and it works well now. I still get like a 75 millisecond blip in RPM just before it reaches 100%. Is that just what they do?
I flew 5 batteries through it, and it seems to govern well, even with lots of collective and cyclic. The slow spool is worth it anyway, compared to the Plush.

Has anyone gotten the governor to work on a Plush? I tried a couple times, but I was never successful.

Eagle, the plush has no governor. I used the 40A and it worked fine as far as slow start and "reliability" are concerned.

I had a crash which is due to the plush 40A though. Cannot pinpoint. Will test it soon.

I ordered a YEP 80. Hope slow start is slower or better than the Plush. And a great governor of course.

How's the slow start of the YEP compared to Plush

I was going off the one mention at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=261

I asked about it a few months ago, but apparently no one other than Eatatjoes has ever set up the governor on a Plush, and HK doesn't mention it. There is a gov setting on the card (On/Off), and the ESC remembers it between programming sessions.

Eatatjoes does not even mention it on his blog http://www.hk450.com/turnigy-plush-40a-esc/ and he seems to have stopped updating it a few years ago.

A comment on HK about the 60A Plush ..."Things I would like to see - adjustable PWM settings, and a governor mode that works. Gov mode has not worked with any of the motors I've tried...."

Anyway:
The Plush spools up in 1.5 to 2 sec or so even on 'Very Soft' start. I've stripped a main gear or two because of that when I forget to put flight mode in normal and manually throttle up slowly..
The YEP spools up in 6-8 seconds on 'heli middle'. Very nice, like the CC ESC.

Let me know if you get the hiccup in RPM as the main rotor reaches 100%.

It sounds more like he just set his radio throttle to 76% not governor. The card has Governor on it because it was made to set different speed controls and not just the plush. I would bet it don't change speed and keep a desired head speed just keeps 76% throttle. That would be why no one has gotten it to "work"

Everything I've read on the subject is most likely based off that one RCG post. Amazing.
I'm using Turnigy for fixed wing now, except for the one sweet EXI FB 450 with the Copter X swash, paddles and Turnigy MEMS that I don't want to change anything on. I spent some time tweaking that.

Edit: Reprogrammed one more time and do not get the blip at power up.

I pulled out all the stops to get a YEP 45a video to everyone. Enjoy the bright colors and expensive production values

It actually takes 15 seconds to get up to speed on heli middle setting . Will have to tweak the startup power or something, I didn't like the hesitation at power up.

Gah, 450 and up heli videos indoors on headphones are like nails on a chalkboard.

Do you guys have a link to some good instructions for tx programming of the YEP 80 amp esc?? The manual on hobbyking's website is kinda confusing.
