Can helis glide? If so, how do you do it?

I dont think they can. As soon as the main blades stop they just fall.

The term is called "autorotation".... It's really isn't so much of a glide as it is a controlled landing using the pitch of the blades to slow the decent caused by every pilot's enemy, gravity.

Wasnt there someone who "sloped" their heli, this would be more like gliding a sailplane than a regual auto.

Not sure if if was a slope-auto or a zero pitch-powered sloping but I think it was done.
