Thx for the update, I'm seriously thinkin of getting this plane it looks like it flys NEWB friendly (slow fly, soft landing, made of epo, simple)

My only reservation was flight time, how many 6 cell 2200s can be stuck in the battery bay?

TIA

I am running two 3S 30C 4,000 packs in mine. I get about 8 minutes flight time. I fly in a scale manner and am not 100% power the whole flight.

Does the current models come with the weathered\overheated metal tail look or would I have to paint it on?

If I have to paint it on how did you go about doing such?

TIA

I am getting close to retirement so I need to grow up and start thinking about what to do once I grow up.

The tint is gold but it looks like some people just paint on some light metalic blue or purple to give it a heat tinged look.

A very scale bird fly fly makes, saw the Top Gun F 100 this year in some pics and can't stop thinking about flyin it.

Read on another thread you might be sellin yours...you ever give the 6s set up another try?

TIA

No I have not. I am happy with the way it flies but I have to travel a good 20 miles to find a strip of concrete to fly it from. I have 13 "smaller" jets that I can just hand launch at our local soccer field. I am going to fly it this weekend at the fly in in OKC and if someone gives me $350 than it will be theirs ready to fly (I will even include a DX6). If not it will go back hanging from my ceiling in formation with my Velocity T-33

I air brushed the heat effect on the aft section. Just used some metalizer and a cardboard mask. Don`t mask with tape, it will take the paint off. I`m using a 6s 4000 mah 30C and a 6s 5000 mah 30C . Get about the same times as Boomer flying the same way. Boomer you can`t retire yet, you gotta be too young. OLD Chief Beak

Hey Chief, we were on the same wave length, I took mine to the Oklahoma Dust Bowl Fly In yesterday and did some formation with my buddies H9 P-47. You would almost think it was a heratige flight from 1970. Also, I opened up the cheeter hole by 2" and it really woke it up. I flies around nicely now with the 6S 4000 MaH setup...

ERH7771, its big but I own a Dodge Magnum and it fits with a little "careful" loading...
