Lander specs are usually correct, so....
On 8S it will beat the 6S version still (and most typical 6S CS12's). But it still has the leeway to move up to 9S or 10S.

I am awaiting an ESC, seeeing they have none in stock....

flyfly F-100 build

Has anyone in the group put together the FlyFly F-100. I just purchased to plane and the instruction sheet is much to be desired. I know with my experience I can get it together, however would like some info from others who have completed the F-100 and flying it now. Thanks.

I think that almost everyone on this thread built is and flies/flew it... To me, the main thing to worry about: this plane is nose heavy to be on the right CG. Make sure you have a good opening for the battery to go as far back as possible--you may need to carve some foam to make room, and start thinking about what will you use as weight in the tail. Different people used different techniques. Just search this forum (or browse through the pictures)

I'm looking for some retracts for this bird. I prefer to have it come with the struts already.
Any ideas?

They do include struts. 4mm struts that you cut to the desired length. I'm guessing you want shock absorption struts or oleos? May check hobby king.

Something out of this series of oleos from HobbyKing will work out... and CHEAP!! Excellent quality!
I have heaps, but have not worked out which specifically for the F-100 yet.
Offset mains, but twin wheel nose.

lol, that was an odd reply.....

How does the Mercury sound?
I saw a video of one in a Sabre (I think) and it sounded like a sewing machine!! The throttle response was so crisp, and there was no real fan noise (no leaf blower, but also "no whoosh") thus why it just sounded like some electric motor revving up and winding down!
It just seemed that the whole Mercury "metallic perfection" was too perfect, to even create a good jet-like sound.

But maybe you found it diffrent than that? Hopefully!

Plus what cells did you use it on, and how did it go.... speed, thrust, power?

I would ALMOST get one.....
That Mercury seems very light for what it is! So that is a good point of it.

I got this:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...watt_10s_.html
But have not run it yet.. still need some stuff for it.
Intended for the F-100 on 8, 9 or 10S... undecided. Though I have a lot of suited 5S batteries to pair up for 10S use.... but that might be overkill !! I really wanted a good 8S version of it, probably 1200kv.... but they have not done one yet.
