It's a personal choice how we fly, there is no wrong way. I like turnin and burning as well, the habu 32 and fun jet ultra are great for that. My recent builds and purchases have me flying more scale and fine tuning the skill.
Yeah I'm going to try to go Sunday to buttonwillow are you going to be there ?

I may stop in on Saturday on my way back from central California. I will just be a spectator but I am going to try and make it.

hi all
maidened my f-100
cheers heaps dale for maidening her for me,you're the best, all went ok as i followed every advice given to me here.e.g c.g that worked perfect at 280 looks great and cannot wait to fly her with the missiles on for a "fully sick" look, but in all that the part i'm most proud of is the steering wheel god that was a pain to get right, cheers heaps to extremerc for the guidance advice and supply of high end gear.here is the onboardcam of today's flite,i will load the handcam video later on

More progress. Primed the rear of the plane and the vertical stab so I can install the rudder (the glue is drying up right now, more images when it's done). Was concerned with some of the wires getting sucked into the fan, so made a cover. Elevators are now back on. Wing is in place, and sure enough--everything seems to be working...

Rudder is installed and operational. Also, a few additional looks on the tail-only primed plane. Looks kind of interesting... A few minor things to complete, and I think I will be ready for a re-maiden (at the new weight). Which reminds me--I have to weigh it again.

OK, weighed it. It is now between 10.11-10.17lb (depending on the battery I'm using). I calculated what it weighed before, and it was 8.22lb or so... So, with the addition of Styrospray, lighting system, rudder, and tail primer, this plane gained almost 2lb... I still have to completely prime it and paint it, so I estimate it will end up in the 10.5lb range. With 6.8lb of thrust--I should be good.

Thanks... I need to "clean up" some of the wires, and then get this bird back in the air ASAP to see if it still flies well, before I spend more time on priming and airbrushing...

Thanks for taking the time to post the SS weight gain. I do like the finish, but am leery of losing vertical performance and the extra strain on the airframe.
Best of luck with the re-maiden!
