F&T has almost done that with his QTR VTO version.

It's a canard.

Go easy on him he is from India where English is its first language only in some places.

Actually it appears to be a religious term (???). This from a Google search - "i need some links and books and information about the principles of islam that the prophet used to constract a community in madina"

I noted the misspelling on some commercial USA sites too.

Back to twin cargoes, still to get my variant to fly reliably, re-engined, chord increased. Admittedly it was designed before this thread started. Admittedly a better pilot might help too.

not that big of a deal. try building the fuse, then the wing, then assemble then and add parts (servos, ect) as you go keeping the CG were it should be. IIRC i did build a pusher once.

keep the tail light and reinforce the nose.(mostly for weight distribution).
the design is pretty flexable and forgiving.

Twins Maiden

Phew... Finally got to maiden 'Magnus' the twin.

He flies brilliantly. Well done and thanks Foam & Tape.

I had great fun dropping a little chuck glider and parachute (unfortunately not visible in the video). The only down side is the distance I had to walk over the nearby muddy fields to get them back

A word of caution though; I had the parachute tangle up in the release mechanism at one point causing 'Magnus' to immediately stick his nose in the air.
Only my skilful flying (pure luck ) got him down in one piece!

Here is the maiden... It's a bit short but my buttock muscles were aching

Magnus (2 min 3 sec)

well i Crashed Bad the other day was testing my new motors twin power 25's 1200kv she has/had tons of power, would climb vertical even at 5+ lbs lol flew very nice landing was a dream with flaps shed just crawl... anyhoo i did a split s and didnt have enough alt pulled back for all she had and smack into the blackberry bushes. the wing is undamaged but the fuselage is in a million pieces! at least i have the wing so rebuilding wont be that bad it took the longest too..

Too bad Scott.
Keep in mind a heavy plane with high wing loading takes longer to respond to up elevator.

Hello foam and tape, I am about to build the 75 % version and I seemed to have overlooked the carbon fiber spar sizes. I know I need couple for the wing hold downs, and one or two for the wing it self, but can you tell me what size they are? Thanks for your help.

I also used some thin PLY Plates at the wing hold down areas to spread the forces out.

Then again I also used a larger CF tube to make my wings less flexy.

How do I land this thing?

Remember my comment about my wing being built like a baseball bat? Well a while back I decided to show off for some friends and fly on a really windy day in an area with a really small landing patch. Getting her up and buzzing around was no problem thanks to all the weight and power my setup has. But when I came in to land I came in waay too hot. I ricocheted off the ground and into a tree. When I say into a tree I don't mean gently stopped in the branches I mean I hit the trunk right by one of the nacelles. It was so loud that one of the guys who wasn't watching thought I hit a car. Here's some pics of the carnage. I'm going to reattach and reinforce the nacelles, replace the broken zip-ties, and reinforce the now squishy nose*. I'm finally getting back to working on it because I have another idea for landing gear I want to try. Sometime late winter or early spring I'll build a new one in the same colors. But for now I'll keep this beat up bird airborne.

*the nose sustained damage in previous crashes so it actually held up awesome
