Well, I spent some time relaying out the Twins Fuse .

I've shrunk it only 6.4% to 38.25"long So it will fit on Standard depron.
See the pic !!!

What was I thinking when I said Maybe I can get everything on one sheet ?
Duhhh !!!

4 sheets will get me everything with lots of scrap to spare for any
TOPSIDE additions, like fake motor housings etc.

I also MODIFIED the rear end for a 30 degree V of the H-stab.
With the Last two formers making an alignment cradle for the H-stab.

I'm planning on using the Tricopter set up as a starting point.
Meaning that ONLY the Tail rotor will be tilted for yaw.

THIS should be lighter than twisting the Main rotors IMHO.

The TWO main Rotors will provide the ROLL via differential thrust.

Then it should just Fly like a normal airplane except that it will
Take Off vertically and land that way also.

Meaning Easy to Fly.

I am not going to start another thread until I receive the Blue Board
and get cracking on that build.

Pecanpatch: Thanks thats a good piece of info !

I didn't find any design parameters like that in the KK site.

Anything else I should know ?

OR a place to research stuff like that ?

Last weekend I got to fly one built from this thread.......

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1142429

All hobby king stuff.... he had $130 in it. ( not including RX)
It was easier to fly than my TREX 450.
I ran 5 batteries through it and the owner pushed me to be more and more aggressive each time.

It's simply awesome..... But then I'm a Heli-guy from way back.
I am going to build one but it will be imbedded into a GeoBat

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1386754

Back to regular programming

SO .... ummmm

Are you going to do a Quadcopter INSIDE the basic Geobat Ring ?

I like Helis but always thought they were necessarily complicated.

Now with the light weight components and terrific power to weight ratios
I have been thinking that the complexity can be greatly reduced.

That is, if you dont count the complexity of the MicroProcessor and Programming.

Along comes a fairly sophisticated PCB with ALL the tough stuff done !

The back yard will never be the same. !

Thanks for the links

Bob
I'm still conceptualizing, but it will be a tri-copter.... just gyros, no microprocessor.

Back to the Twins 75% Twin

Got my 75% 6mm twin and did the final cuts to free the parts. Hadn't looked at the plans or realized how many parts there are. After seeing them all I'm glad Bob (Bird of Play) did the main cutting Going to take me long enough to assemble it anyway. May have already made one mistake. Watched the E-Fest 2011 video on youtube. The tilt wing Twin really got my attention.
I work about twenty weekends a year flagging at various auto events at two local race tracks. Quite often in the evening there may be from two to six of us flying and I'd really like to bring the tilt wing to them.
Bob has gotten put on my list of people who ship fast. Ordered it early the 4th and it was here the 7th. Pops

TMH: Thank you for the Comps !

Cut and Ship - thats what I do !

The Tilt wing looked interesting until I saw the 3 gyro KK controller
and I just couldn't help myself but to try one !

I'm going for the Tri-Copter.

I already have so Camera options so this will be interesting and
Flyable from the Back yard !

That's important as I see great condits at home and get 8 miles away
around the back side of a ridge where we have a 2300' filed to fly at
and it's Windy as hell !

Good Luck with your 75% build !

oddly enough, I could balance mine in all sorts of positions and just trim for flight

That's how my tri-twin VTOL multipurpose cargo plane/heli flies too...

F&T, can you post some more pic of your Avatar Twin? I'd like to see the 3 main views (front, top, side)...

Thank you in advance!?

I was thinking about DOING an Avatar type Model but then I thought the
Studio might not be OK with it.
Same thinking with the Terminator Robot plane.
B-sides they are both kinda tricky shapes compared to The Twins.

SO I'm off and running down the OSPREY path.
I have 3-views are downloaded.

If the BLUE Board is as good as I think it's going to be
I have LOTS of Ideas. :-)

I bought the 3 axis mixer/controler form the KK place.

It has the capability to do ANY of the combinations of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 rotor Kopters.
It also has an AIRplane capability.

So Doing the Osprey should be NO problem.

I'll be able to rotate the individual Wing Fans from a few negative degrees to Full Forward.

Mine will be more like the Osprey NOT a FULL Wing Tilt like F&T

I am starting with The Twins Fuse and the TRI-Kopter 1st to get INTO this thang.

But I do not have ANY interest in putting Heli type heads on my Ospey like model.
