Except technologies change. I can't for example use quite a few hundred dollars in software from the early 90's that I own. I can't get access to a lot of information I have because there is no more 5" floppy disk drives or SyQuest 135 drives and the working example I do have are not compatible with modern equipment availible. So yes I do have a lot of information but I can't get to it any longer.

Is there a plan to continuously remake the information so it is always available?

The trick is to convert what you can to the newer technology when it first comes out.

I see the jobs of the future! Re-recording what's already been known, into the next best iteration of storage devices. Nobody will actually make anything and our eyelids will "flit" like the screen of my monitor! "Hurrah Future"!!

I have tried some online publications that used Zinio and was not very happy with the product and reverted to hard-copy subscriptions. Maybe the technology has improved.

That being said, I probably would not opt out of the hard copy MA simply because I usually leave my old copies at various doctors' and dental offices I frequent. All the office managers have expressed gratitude for my adding to their reading material. And we've picked up a few new interested noobies in the process. I leave a contact sheet with the offices and anyone who expresses interest is given a contact sheet.

Frankly, I dread the thought of most of the publications I recieve going 100% digital. A number of publications I used to get at my now former job went digital, eliminating their paper editions "For improved eficiency!"

Maybe improved (especialy reduced transimission costs and eliminating printing and materials costs), but every bit of research points out that people in fact have more trouble with initial understanding of on screen text, than from hardcopy, and short term and long term retention is significantly reduced. An for me, aside from the obvious, that one can't always have a computer available in all circumstances, alsodon't like the fact that while I generally am able to go through a magazine like NASA Tech Briefs, Design News, and other such publications in maybe 15 to 20 minutes per issue, doing the same type of scanning/article reading can take 30 mito 45 minutes, even though some of them, have a utility that rolls a page corner just like the reader was manually flipping a page.

As far as storage, I just copy the articles I have an interest in, then do some type of recycling the rest f the magazine.
