Don't subscribe to RC Heli magazine

Hi Folks,
Just thought I'd let you know my experience with RC Heli Magazine. I paid for a one year subscription on JULY 8th and today is October 8th and they have STILL NOT SENT ANYTHING. I've had lots of e-mail promises from the subscription department and lots of promises from Mike V BUT NO ACTION, ZILCH, NOTHING. They seem to enjoy screwing their customers around because several readers on helifreak have had similar experiences with RC Heli Magazine. They told me service to Canada takes longer ! They forget mail goes around THE WORLD in 7 days now.
Save your money DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO RC HELI MAGAZINE. If you do decide to send this outfit your hard earned cash don't complain when you get NOTHING FROM THEM.

I've had quite a different experience. I get all the issues on time (actually, usually too early... I think I got June's issue the second week of May!).

The October issue is indeed delayed as they switched printers.

I like the magazine and it give me something to read when visiting RCGroups or HeliFreak is not an option.

That’s probably why your subscription was delayed. I also like the magazine and have been a subscriber from when it first came out.

That’s the best helicopter magazine because they try to give you an honest evaluation based in a large number of flights. Most magazines just go over the advertising points and don’t give you any useful flight test information.

My subscription hasn't been smooth, they missed my first issue, didn't get the 1st issue, it looks like they added it to the end of the subscription, without telling me. Said I would get the June issue, got the July....

I am pleasently supprised when it gets in, I enjoy reading it. I'll probably resuscribe...well before the expiration, hate to give them any reason to mess up further

Maybe some one can pass along an old issue so I can see what I paid for three months ago. I thought I had subscribed to a mag that would be informative for a newbie but since I have not received a damn thing from RC Heli mag I have no idea if it is worth it or not. Most monthly magazines have a date of at least two months ahead to give it "shelf life" in airports, bus depots etc. I bought Model aircraft news at the end of september with an issue date of November so for the gentleman who got his RC heli mag for june in the middle of may you were behind the normal for monthly publications. I'd ask for my money back from RC Heli but if they can't stick a stamp on a mailing label how the heck can they refund my money?

Use this situation at your advantage, try to negociate those 3 months delay for an extra prolongation at the end

It has already taken months for my subscription to start, but then, you're good for 12 month straight. Hold on

I honestly do not want any thing for nothing from RC Heli mag and will not ask for a subscription extension. All I ask is they provide what I paid for and some HONEST replies to my e-mails. Lots of businesses have delivery problems from time to time but in my industry we explain truthfully to our customers what the caused the problem and how we will rectify it. We do not tell customers lies.

I am the former editor of RC Heli, from issues 5- 23, and I wrote tons of content during that time. I have nothing against them, they are good people, but if you want to see what I've been up to, I publish my own free online magazine now at BaronsHobbies.com, and I try to keep it fresh.

Its great to be doing my own thing

************ FINALLY *******************
98 days after I paid RC Heli for a one year subscription I have finally received a magazine from RC Heli. Man could they be any slower? I wonder if I'll get any more.

After the first I bet they are on time now - your in the system. I heard October was late as well due to a printer change, rumer I dunno? My October just showed up two days ago, was about 20 days later then when I normally get it. Prior to this though 6 mo or so of consistent delivery...
