3w

I am hoping to get time to build our 3W test stand Monday or Tuesday. I am currently spending time getting CAD drawing's complete for all the engine and canister mounting bits. I built two 6 volt ignition packs today; one 3300mAh, the other a 3900mAh.

Really look forward to getting my hands on the Pilatus!

Matt

I am ordering a 24x12 Mejzlik three blade that will give the PC6 a little more scale appearance(considering the fact that we may not be able to use the cowl..)

Cool Matt! I really appreciate you taking on this project. See you tomorrow at the field. Are you ready to drag the little Fox around the sky?!

Well as Matt said, Today we towed my Windrider Fox with my HZ Supercub! Matt did a fine job with his first crack at being a tug pilot! The Fox flies like the cheap piece of crap that it is. So considering that, we did a pretty good job keeping things lined up.. Sorry, no pics. Kinda hard to fly and take photos at the same time! Next up. The Kadet Sr. and the Cularis.. And then the Porter!

Not to worry first timers.

Paul and I have NOT managed a good turn yet ! :>}

But he gets plenty of altitude with straight out tows of my Electric Pegasus.

It's like water skiing !
Slow tug turning with glider hanging to the outside of the turn.
Either a gentle roll to outside or an opposite rudder skid keeping wings level.
Or whatever works for you.

I second the slight bit of opposite rudder in turns. If the tug turns too tight, it helps to keep the line from slacking and turning into a shock cord.

Helmet Cam

What we need is a good helmet cam!
Randy, you can wear it duct-taped to your head because you're taller.

Neat little cam! I had I have had an ST Labs 5n1 edvr for about five years now. the little lipo finally went feet up. I cannot find a replacement anywhere locally. Time for a new unit. I will considwer the little "keychain" cam for sure. There are also other little cameras available on ebay.

Anyway, here's a clip I shot a couple years ago from my DAW Ka6.

3.2 meter Porter build thread

Hey Matt. Are you going to do one?!

BTW. Besides doing all the building, Matt is also providing all the airborne electronics(servos, RX, batteries)for this project. I could not do this, without his help and expertise!

Motor & Prop

Well here is the 3w with the prop mounted, balanced, and ready to go. Test stand should be done tomorrow with a tentative date of November 7 as the first fire up.
