hi, i'm about to buy the HK250GT and would like to hear some opinions you guys might have. currently i own 2 gaui 200's and i have a lot of turnigy 1000mah 2s batteries for it, so i will be going 2s with the HK as well, in my cart i have 2 motor options. (i will be buying both just in case)

Motor
1. Turnigy 2623 Brushless Motor 4500kv
2. FF200 Brushless Outrunner 5000kv

so below are my questions
1. do you think these motors will be good for a 2s setup?
2. what pinion would you recommend with motor#1 and motor#2
3. i will be also keeping spare parts for this heli like:
a.HK-250GT Main Shaft (3pcs/set)
b.HK-250GT Main Gear Assembly
c.HK-250GT Tail Drive Gear Shaft (2pcs/set)
d.HK-250GT Feathering Shaft (2pcs/set)
e.HK-250GT Timing Belt
f.All the bearings listed for the HK250GT
i heard that on the items above most people replace it with the Align stuff. im only doing flips, rolls, stall turns, and inverted hover for now (no hard 3d at all) so do i really need to replace it with ALIGN straight away? does any one here had good experience with the stock feathering shaft and stock belt?

sorry for having a lot of questions as i want to get all my stuff from HK even for spares, i cant see no reason why i would buy a kit from one store then buy small items from another store, i just really want this heli to be my inexpensive trainer

Make sure you buy bearing to put in the seesaw. (GT250-681x/10272 HK-250GT Ball Bearing 4 x 1.5 x 1.2mm) The bushing on mine were real sloppy. The hole was way to big for the screw.

Everything else on mine was slop free and the belt doesn't look like the pictures i have been seeing on the threads. It looks to be a better belt.

Just got mine a couple of days ago.

I am running the Turnigy 2623 Brushless Motor 4500kv with 15 tooth pinion based on Estarters thread http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1120559

He has a video of that setup running on 2S.

hi brian, do you fly this bugger all stock?
i just want a reassurance that even with the stock parts/spares this little heli will not explode on me doing some sport flying. i will be aiming at around 3600rpm headspeed BTW

Please could someone post the empty kit weight of the HK250 vs. HK250GT? I'm thinking of going 2S and interested in what the weight savings of the PL kit might be. Thanks.

Guy's i just wanna ask if you could give me some advise on which one to buy...my friend got the new HK250gt and flies great...he plans to sell it to me for $438 RTF with Crash kit, i cant remember the servo brand but im sure it is metal geared servos, 2 flightmax 3s 800mah batts., has esky pro gyro, and Dx6i tx and rx...i tested this heli and i liked it the first time i flew it...i just wanna ask if this deal is a best buy...i was kinda saving my money for a new dx6i and build an Align t250 until this deal came up!!! im kinda leaning on the offer but the GT's flaws are giving me second thoughts about it..and the best thing about this deal is its in installment...pay whenever i have the money he said!!!guys i need your advise!!!ohh what to do?!!

Mmm sounds like an average deal to me, unless you don't have the money right now and don't want to build the kit yourself.

Here's what you can slap together from just the stuff sold at HK:
- HK250-GT kit $57.77
- Turnigy 2627 3800kv $11.41
- TURNIGY Plush 25A ESC $12.19
- HXT900 Micro Servo*3 $9.45
- Inolab HGD-201HB $25.49
- HK401 Gyro $13.99
- ZIPPY Flightmax 800mAh 3S1P 20C *3 $26.58
Total: $156.88 + $30 EMS shipping
And of course you should be able to pick up brand new DX6i with RX for around 200 bucks.

Hey All,

How tight is the onewaybearing supposed to be on the GT?

Im coming from a 450 where its nice and free to move however on the GT which has just been built it spins however seems tight.

Cheers

I had the same problem. Finally found the bottom main shaft screw was too tight because of the washer above the main gear being too thick. Just replaced it and it works great.

1. Point the motor cables backwards like at the picture with the motor. Then I have to cut the corner as shown by the yellow line.

2. Piont the motor cabels forward and then I have to take a way a piece of the frame as shown on the frame picture.

Or have I missed something? How have you done?
Mate had the same problem however worked well with the esc placement as mentioned previously.

You should not need to remove any of the frame to mount it this way.

Just remember to cut the top of the shaft off the motor or it will rub on the cyclic servo's.

Any body have problem with the belt stripping? I'm running a 3900kv scorpion motor with the 15T pinion and it gives huge speed, but the belt have stripped after 4 flight. My friend has a 3400kv motor and he had the same problem after only a couple of flight.

Is the belt just too cheap or are we asking too much from such a little machine? Anyway, we have ordered a special kevlar reinforced belt from another www site... we'll let you know.

Meanwhile, I just put a regular belt back and I'm trying to run it much slower for at least 10 flight just to see if it shows signs of degradation...
