Agreed!!!!!!
I hope they took some hints from Hitec's Aurora9 and Futaba's features.
More mixes please, MORE mixes please..... More ....

I don't need more fancy buttons or shiny exteriors.....
though if I get Megan Fox to deliver my transformer radio nothing else would really matter ...
stay on topic... I need better control over mixes and assignability of all buttons.

I thought it the stranges thing with my X9303 that I could choose either the flap switch or the AUX2 switch for use. Like once I can control 3 flap settings which is common, I don't need to the AUX2 switch from com trim levels or what ever else I could use if for.

Rather than give me 50 model memory, give me a media slot. I can get a SANDisc to hold more models than I would own in my life time. Why not let me setup the program and upload it!

And hey, at the prices that they come out with for these radios, more than a top end lap top, I wish these came with a SIM that I could first setup my model on and then upload to my radio. They could keep the basic programming for those who don't use PC's, but for those who are trying to do more please release the programming to be more flexible.

Telemetry..... I really hope they at least looked into adding some telemetry. JR has a great line up of Rx's and could easily add telemetry through the data connector of their Rx's.

11X zero... please be the radio we all hope you could be

It all seems under lock and key at the moment. I'm also interested in knowing more.....

One guy on RunRyder says he has a source.... aparently it will be made in china to compete with the Futaba 10ch. I don't know what he means by 'compete' but presumably he's talking about prices.

Yeah...how about assignable switches without native labels like the BS (elev dual rate / Ail dual rate, etc.)

Just make the switches 1-9, etc. and leave it user assignable.

Wonder if this radio will be JR FHSS compatible, ie. "DSM 3."

Nice to see them coming out with a 'clean-sheet' design for 2.4 for a change.

Some of the photos show a 2.4 antenna coming up from behind and a cap in the standard antenna location so odds are it will be a module-based Tx like the 12X. These modules have a digital interface to the Tx so there is no latency penalty.

It would be nice for them to fix some of their usability and programmability deficiencies but from the look of the switch labels and the screen, I expect it will disappoint on that front and stick to the existing JR programming, with all the same strengths and weaknesses.

Things that would be very nice but I bet are missing:

* 100% switch assignability
* Throttle linked timer
* SD card slot for model memories, PC-based programming and firmware upgrades
* Telemetry

It will also be interesting to see how this affects JR's pricing. With the SD-10G, 8FG and Aurora9 all being cheaper and more capable than the 9303, JR are at a disadvantage in the $500-$600 market. The 10C is about the same price as the 9303. The 12X is double the price of the 9303 but hundreds more than the 12FG. So either JR drop the price of the 9303 down a couple of hundred and slot the 11X into the $600-700 range or they rely on brand loyalty (and sunk cost in DSM2 Rx) to try to support it being around $900, roughly in the middle between the current 9303 and 12X prices and about the same as the 12FG.

Time will tell.

BTW - I also think it looks like a Cylon

I have always been a fan of JR, but this new design will take some time to get used to... Looks pretty cool with the display lit up, though.

and wether or not horizon will demand a 2.4 only version of this, and if the modular variety will even be imported.

I like the idea of their starting from zero, I have a lot of problems with the existing JR paradigm.
I have a XP9303 72mHz which is , if i recall correctly, only a 1024, not a 2048. I always thought only the top was more recently a 2048.

Either way cool to know.....

Yeah but ... Megan Fox ....
They couldn't have picked a better time to announce this than on the heals of Hitec's Aurora9 delivery. It'll be interesting to see how the market goes if it is more of the same. Will Brand loyalty and good looks out pace better functionality?

It would have been nicer if they made the Aurora11X

Fly2High, the XP9303 is 1024 in PCM mode.

the X9303 is 2048 when used with a 2048 compatible receiver (AR7100 and up).

I don't know how sensitive the A2D converters are on the various modules, so I don't know how fine their ppm conversion is.

fhhuber: if they change 2.4 standards, I would hope that they incorporate the old standard, as they did when they went from DSM to DSM2. if past is prologue, the transmitter will learn the modulation type during the binding process and associate the modulation with the model memory slot.

In addition to Danny's comments, I thought we all decided DSM3 was released only in Japan because they couldn't effectively use DSM2 because of their freq control rules.

JR systems using DSMJ (AKA DSM3???) are being distributed in Europe and South Africa.
