Bullseye Update....

The Bullseye has been a popular airplane around here with all kind of mutations flying successfully..... here's the latest incarnation ...the Albatross 3D body and the Bullseye wing..... lots of side area and prevents the broken in the middle stick syndrome....besides looks cool .... Plans are still avialable for free at www.FoamFly.com

What do we call it ??? the Bullbatross???? ...or as FB Rich says the Albetoilet ....isn't that what friends are really for???

Just putting the finishing touchs on mine, adding the full fuse does add more character.

UPdate...... Tried the E-Gull/ GWS D motor 11x8 prop... on the Bullbatross (or whatever) and experienced SEVERE torque rolling problems...would flip over left and execute roll at any altitude ....NO FUN!!! checked for warps ....found none .low throttle , no problem......maybe just TOO much power ( I can't believe I'm saying that) so I put an A motor back on it ( epu-6).....maybe not enough turning force with Rudder and elevator ...maybe elevons would solve the problem.....will test further ...don't go away....

In search for even more stability (trainerbull)....

Have bent some dihedral into the wing 8" out from the fuselage.....we'll see if it helps .....maybe tomorrow if the weather permits....

Well let just say I was a sceptic that a round flat wing with ONLY rudder and elevator would have any control to keep any plane level and even turn the thing with any reason of control. Yes I know that there was a WW1 plane that was controlled this way but I still thought it would be a pain to fly.

Well let me tell you after a little bit of a rocky road to find the balance and basic trim, 1 motor stick, I must say I'm really impressed, amazed, and in awe with this little plane. Glen, I am sorry for doubting you and your plane.

I worked around the house and on the cars all day. The weather was perfect for flying. Finished up around 5pm and got the idea to try out this design. So off to the shed for a hunk of blue and by 7pm it was ready. After 2 failed trips to the park to fly #3 was the charm as the sun went down and darkness set in. So after a trim flight move location to the school parking lot and put in another 45 minutes. What a blast. I think this is a plane my 8yr old can fly, with a little help.

Way cool Dude , but then , you are one of the only few that had any success with the Borg Cube.... Glad you enjoy the Bullseye ....it was my attempt to come UP with a plane that fly great and be really easy to build....sorta' like the Bic lighter of foamies .....
