The plane counting contest
You guys are simply blowing me away with counting up your fleets!
I have 5 outdoor planes in grab-and-go flying condition. The XE-2, Outrage, and EasyStar can and do fly in some wind. The SE-5 and Divo are only suitable for near-calm conditions. That 3/5 of these are biplanes may tell you something about how much I like biplanes! I have several once-flyable planes now Resting In Pieces, with all or nearly all the pieces and equipment colocated, awaiting revival. I've found that if I ever remove the servos, that airframe is very likely to never ever fly again! So I tend to leave servos installed. If somehow I could get motivated to fix my RIP planes, and to not crash them right away, then I'd have a larger number, but nowhere near what you guys are counting up. My indoor fleet of ultra-micro planes and helis is numerically larger, but they are limited to indoors and truely-calm outdoor conditions. So I'm not sure they really "count". Counting it up another way, I'm thankful for all the pilots I know and for the PG, MUMC, St. Mary's, and MARS flying sites. Jim Last edited by Jim_Marconnet; Oct 08, 2009 at 10:33 AM. |

Hey Jim, haven't you heard the saying "who ever has the most toys" well we are living proof. The Slowstick has always been a fav go to plane. Now I have a Radian PNP. Its a sweet plane that loves to float. More Radians in the family is a strong posibility.

Just letting everybody know that the HobbyTown USA promotion this weekend is for anybody that walks in the store. You don't have to have the coupon to get the discount. Greg wanted me to pass that along to everybody.

In addition to flyable AC, BRN is counting NIB, needing repair, and salvaged.

Don't forget the HobbyTownUSA 2 year celebration/sale Today, Saturday and Sunday.
Given the forecast wind and rain, think I'll bop over there at lunch time today to see what refreshments they have. I'd really like another one of the Celectra quad-chargers for 1S LiPos. But not sure I need another mSR, and that's the only BNF or RTF that I know of that comes with the Celectra charger. Hmmmmmm? Jim |

I have to stay away from there this weekend. Well, I do need some aluminum tubing, I can go to Rick's for that.
If I get in HT USA, I will buy an MSR if it is $20 off. I don't need to spend the money. Must stay away... |

I'd have rather been flying today!
I went to HobbyTownUSA at lunch time. Greg and his Dad were working there. Not as much excitement as I had anticipated. Some helium balloons outside the front door. Had the raffle box and sign-up sheets on the table just inside the door. They just need your full name and phone number, unless you don't have their HT card yet.
Greg was chewing and spitting tobacco. Not my favorite spectator passtime! Yes, I know that's probably TMI (To Much Information!). Discounts: No coupon needed. $10 off $50 or more $20 off $100 or more 10% off $200 or more No refreshments there today. I did not ask when/what they would have for refreshments. The rest of the store looked exactly like usual. I left empty-handed. Wished I had been able to go flying instead. Jim |

I went by HTUSA just now. Only bought a pack of screws. Greg let me fly the Blade mSR. Twitchy little booger compared to the mCX!
Oh, and he let me try some of his chewing tobacco too...not too bad! Andy |
