Rare aircraft sightings in Tanner today!

We got a little flying done in Tanner today. Kinda windy, but we still had some fun. Didn't get any pictures of Dad's planes, but he was here with the Super Zomby and a Slow Stick.

It was good having the Grose boys together today and we were glad to welcome Brian Rivers over too. Ya'll gotta see that Twister EDF go!

Enjoy the pics!

Andy

It wasn't an organized fly-in in the usual sense of the word. It was more of a Grose boys fly-in that Brian Rivers found himself at.

Glad you had a fun family outing. Thanks for the photos.

I went to the Madison Street Festival yesterday afternoon, and later to Intergraph to fly my Combat Wings XE-2 towards sunset. I saw no one else there flying. Actually with the glare, I did not see much of the XE-2 either!

When I realized the SF was yesterday, I realized that had I planned ahead further, I might have rented a booth to publicize the Family Fun Flys at MUMC. Nah! At $40 per 15 x 10 non-profit space, that would have exceeded my total annual advertising budget of $0.00. But it turned out that NARCA had a booth with a pop-up, several planes on display, aerotow flyers to hand out, etc. etc. I talked to the guys manning the booth about club stuff, pylon racing, and such. Not sure that they signed up any new members, but they put forth effort and got some public exposure. They were right in line with one of the stages, so by the end of the day they were complaining loudly of deafness.

Jim

Fun time flying for sure! And yes, that last pic with the Radian at Brian's toes.... I witnessed that one from about a hundred feet up, ESC noted low voltage warning, Brian went dead-stick, I said put it at your feet, he brought it in for a nice glide path that resulted with that picture.....he didn't move his feet an inch! Good flying Brian!!!! Nice pictures Andy!

I had a great time yesterday guys! Those warbirds are awesome. I think I'll pick up the FW190 at some point. The Radian was awesome too. I'm going to have to put some effort in to getting my EZGlider lighter, and maybe it will perform as well as the Radian.

However, the best part for me was my successful (finally!) launch and flight of the Twister. Once I got it in the air, it was a blast! I can't wait to fly it again.

That would be my trusty Canon Digital Rebel XT equipped with a Tamron 55-200 zoom lens. Same one I've been using for all my review pics and such.

It does a nice job, doesn't it?

Yeah... I don't know what kind of sad story Brian told you so he could come fly with you..., but I happened to video his FIRST successful flight of the Twister at the Parade Field...

Jeff:

Thanks so much for sharing your recent videos with us!

Actually, thanks to everyone who share videos, photos, and flight reports. I've looked a little at other Club's forums here, and the Alabama Rocket City Renegades are one of the most active discussions in RCGroups.

Jim
