What does it mean, 3 sec run, verry hot.

I decided to plug this motor in last night. After 3 sec run, it is verry hot, I was running it on 3S to test.

The motor got very hot after only 3 seconds of run time? What speed control and what prop?

Does the motor and gearbox spin freely? An idea of current draw would help. Most any motor will develop some amount of heat while free-running it, so it kind of depends on how "hot" it actually is. 125 F feels pretty hot to the touch when you are squeezing the motor in your hand while running it up....

Put the Watt meter on last night. The motor does spin, amps, one click on the power stick and the amps started at 5 and then it bounces all over the place I have seen 12, 30, 14, 40, 8, 5 ,12 and them the motor stops running and I can not hold the motor. When I test my 11XL is hold 8amps and it is not hot at all.

sounds like the motor has a loose connection in one of the phases, ar possibly in a connector or something. Are you using bullet connectors or something similar?

I did run with bullet connectors, by process of elimination, I removed the connectors and I am running aligator clips for testing. I did noticed that were the three wires goes in the casing there is no rubber insulation were the three of them are close together.

When I spread the three wires apart, as far has passoble, the running hesitation dissapears and there is less heat.

It sounds as though the wire insulation was worn away - the easy fix is to simply re-insulate the wires using shrink-tubing. Try to get one large pieceslid as far down each wire into the motor as possible.
