Maidened

Went well, this wing is "docile" nothing unexpected, solid in the air, slows down really well (the wing loading is between a glider and a trainer)

initial setting
elevator 9mm each way
Aileron 11mm each way
Sticks in corner 18mm total travel
Expo 50% on both

Loops well, slight pull to one side (cant remember which)
Rolls well, not axial, but close.

Have 5mm down trim on left elevon, to counter tourque I think (10 by 5 prop), that or the wings warped,

Landings fun, it dont slow down even with no brake, throttle off 150meters out and glide it, or to shorten up the landing, about 10ft off deck, throttle OFF, increase up elevator, it slows quick then push back down and glide her in for a shorter slower landing.

The noise is wrong, as the motor is only 1100 kv , its a lower roar than the high pitched 2900 kv Microdan.

Initial tests above on a sagy set of 3S packs (3S 5000 mah) about 30 Amps at 10.5 volts, so just over 300 watts

Tonite will be brand new 4S 5000 mah , closer to 680 watts

4S - man what a sound, the gas flyers comented on it !
The prop may be bent, bit of funny noise from it.

Flew for two minutes, dont know the speed, hard to judge in 30km/hr winds, but she MOOOVES

After two minutes, ESC quit, not sure why, it fire back up, but I glided it from 200 meters out in a 30 km/hr headwind (of course, where else would the esc cut out but down wind ! )

LOVE this wing on 4S !
But at the same time, she also rocks on 3S, with the 300Watt 3S setup, after 6 minutes I had used 40% of the 5000 mah lipos, and the headwind was 30km/hr, and most flying was 1/2 to 2/3 throttle, no worries

Cool, I'm looking to build something similar.
Any advantage to having the vertical fins inboard rather than at the tips?

Swapped motors and Prop, running a turnigy 1400 kv http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=7073 on 9 by 4.5 prop, 56 amps at 15 volts (fresh 4S) est 840 watts, testing at Tokoroa this Sunday, with Jackos eagle tree, see if she unloads in the air :-) man, an incredible noise, ears ringing after 2 sec burst in dining room !
Hope amps drop a bit, otherwise its "smoke" time

No - i wish I could do with mine what you do with yours !

Top speed about 140 km/hr , looking at loosing some thrust (it has heaps) and going to an 8 by 6 prop, to see if can get a bit more speed, will also space prop away from the cutout a little bit, it too close, but the noise is wicked
