I've found some alternative 3A regulator units, though the specs are slightly different to the beloved one that I wanted to use. I'm going to see if I can make it work in a similar form-factor.

Steve,
The problem with taking the input from the ESC would be that the voltage (5V) would be too low, since the regulator needs at least 1.2V overhead. To do what you're thinking it might be easier to tap off the main pack directly, before the ESC. Paul. |

Yes, you can use the balance plug to do that, no problems there normally since you can safely pull up to about 3A through those pins. |
